Just look at the gamelist and the xml contents here: https://github.com/t...mame-nvram-maps

My example was just specific to DM (last game score, hex address: https://github.com/t..._h6.nv.json#L12 ).

Got it working :)

I went with flashers for the text, figured it would be the best looking option in-game

O M G !!!

How cool is that.. That's far from what i expected.. Thanks so much for this experiment nFozzy!

I hope you'll release this at some point?!

EDIT: i think this can really improve the experience vastly for beginners (or even pinheads when they play a table for the first time!!), as they can super quickly see what score they can get when they do this or that on a table..

Ok, so maybe im still too new at coding and stuff, but is this something I could add to my original?

Maybe a tutorial on how this is achieved?

Here's the script as I have it now. It should be able to display letters as well as numbers, but the font I've made only has numbers atm.

Once it's set up it's easy to use. Just one method...

FFrame1.TextAt "hello", 243.53, 864.523

...would display "hello" at those x/y coordinates

Didn’t think I’d ever turn on a floating scores option, but nFozzy’s implementation is so cool, I’m looking forward to it! I love the different sizes and colors, and the old school “font.” Well done!

Was just thinking about this yesterday and wondering if anyone had attempted it for VPX, took me a while to figure out what to search for but then found this thread.

Works really well in desktop mode, well done nFozzy. Has anyone else other than nFozzy attempted to incorporate it into another table?

Seems like it would be a nice feature to have added into the game engine if it were possible, switchable to off of course for those that prefer more traditional tables.

I did it once, then changed my mind and removed it

For reference, this made it to Space Station (Williams 1987) by @nFozzy. Only enabled in desktop mode.

Been thinking to extract the code and create a howto / example script.

Easily done, harder to perfect. And in all cases hideous. Can we please not?

Options are always good Anthias.

I just had another thought, this same effect could be used to create visual audio fx...... POW! BAM! WHOP! TINK! PONK! etc... Could prove to be interesting especially for those who are deaf.

Ok that would be fun on a batman table.
