No crash for me in VPX full screen but no pup video ^^

 

i was wondering if it could be the french windows version which may be the pb (see 2 others french guys with the same pb) but with marie with the same pb its not ..

(had a pb a few years ago with french windows and future pinball, some options were not working)

You shouldn't 'move' folder/files around after you have ran the install batch file.  I would remove all PUP files/folders from your visual pinball folders... and start install 'fresh' and follow the setup video exactly....make sure you re-run the install batch as admin as well....

 

I see now that  readme.txt has typo to copy zip contents into the tables folder, should say tables\PinUPPlayer folder.  I will have to remove that line and just refer to the install video for instructions...

 

let me know....

 

anyone willing to let me remote-support into their cabs temporarily to see setup/errors?  tightvncserver would be easiest....

Pinup Player is running fine and looking GREAT with the TRON PUP table. I am only using the backglass video, so no topper or dmd.

When I manually launch the tabel in VPX it is ok. Sadly when I start the table from PINBALLX, the B2S does not load. I get an error message from b2sserver that it cannot load the file .b2sserver... so somewhere in the parameters it lost the table name and is looking for ".b2sserver" which ofcourse it cannot find...

 

Is it because of pinup player running as an extra tool that the parameters or messed up?

 

Also I noticed that after closing the table in VPX and exiting VPX, the PinUpDisplay tool keeps running, so it is not auto-closing.

 

Do other tables (not tron) work with your pbx?  PUPb2s plugin is very 'light' and shouldn't cause any issue with b2s starting up....it only receives info like switches/lights/etc.  (make sure your trn_174h folder is empty in pupvideos).

 

you can try moving the pinupb2splugin folder outside of the plugins folder and see if your tron table will start from pbx....tron table doesn't use pupb2s link.

 

Currently PinUpDisplay Driver is set to 'listen'/remain open after first run.  When there are no 'active' connections it uses no resources.  I'll look at putting an option to autoclose, but thought it would be best to remain open so that it's not restarting inbetween tables.

one more item for people who don't see videos to try.  can you set the screen to NOT fit-to-screen.  and put an aspect ration of 16 :  9  and see if that changes anything....

I'm running Windows 10 - i7 computer and set this up and having no problems running the Tron game, in windowed fullscreen or exclusive fullscreen mode - have not tried to do anything else yet...

ok.......it seems to be a windows 7 issue

 

if someone with playback issues on windows7 can try this out.   Right-click on both the Pinupdisplay.exe and pinupplayer.exe and check "run this program in compatibility mode" windows 2000.  

 

if it works then at least we know its windows security that is stopping it....and we can work from there.

I am not sure if this will be helpful or not to anyone, but, if you want something to test independently of the TRON Legacy table of Supreme Awesomeness, if you have Data East Batman (The 1989 movie themed one) you can try my pure PuPB2S thing I made.
This is not a "release" or anything like that, but it is what I used to get the 'gist' of how it works and it helped me understand the options.

Note that the videos are all set to *not* play any audio, as my Batman is altsound'd up with movie OST et al.

I will try the compatibility mode as soon as im back from work... 9 hours from now.
Thanks for your input. Everytime i moved the files i reran the install bat. Its not enough ? I have my main pc with win10 so i will try pinup player on it to see if i have the same pb.. just have to check if the others components are up to date too on this one.
Mrkay i tried myself a pure pupdbs one with the same issue.. but maybe i had done something wrong so i will try yours. Thanks for the help !

And i can let you take remotecontrol of my setup without pbs nailbusters .. just have to sync ourselves.

I tried the W2000 compatibility and it works. I can can see the Tron vids! 

 

Absolutely great, I always loved the slamt1lt FP tables  like Tron and Iron Man. Now also for VP

 

Still I get a crash when playing it forced full screen... I wil try some more settings to get that running as well

What's your game manager settings for the game set to in PBX?

 

 

 

 

It looks fine in Game Manager. When I press the LAUNCH button in game manager for TRON, it works and show b2s correct. When I launch it in PinballX it gives the error message like stated in the initial post... very strange... I have this only with this TRON PUP table... so it must be something with this tool...

Hmmm, tried a lot of different compatiblity settings  but can't seem to run it in forced full screen in W7 64... windowed screen works perfect though

 

I included the error code, perhaps someone has an idea to solve it...

Just Tried the MrKay pup config for batman DE.. excellent ! 

 

Grrr now i have to remake my pincab head to show a screen for the topper  , with this addon it becomes mandatory ^^

 

 

just tried via pinballx and fullscreen mode, no pb for me, everything is fine

splash screens will be optional in a future build...

 

@connorsDad...  you really don't want visual pinball installed in your c:\programs files folder....windows protects the programs folder folder like a mofo.....you can run into issues doing that.

Yet I haven't had an issue in 3 years :/ too scared to change things in case I break something lol. App is a game changer by the way, just awesome, thank you

Actually...now that I think of it...

I *too* have a weird "disconnect" with Terry's table; if I launch it without a Front End, it throws an error about the PuPPlayer object instantiation (programmers will know these words, heheh) but via PBX it's fine.
