can't get Motor Show rom working as before with the lastest vpinmame and vpx 10.7?

It might be a pinmame issue, but, before I check it on my end. Have you validated your rom ?

I've tryed the lastest rom from ipdb.org without success

 

My old rom have worked before with vpinmame 3.2 so I'm not shure with the version 3.3b

 

currently I'm using the lastest build of 3.4 version because the new Pistol Poker need that version to work properly!

 

I think it's a vpinmame 3.4 bug so I'm not shure.

Can't be of much more help than confirming your post in beta thread. Devs - toxie, gaston or jsm174 will probably have to take a closer look. It happens from time to time. I'm just surprised that it doesn't happen more often

You need a new nvram for the newer vpinmame.

UPDATE

 

4.0.0 Updated 6.10.2022

- Updated to my VPX7 physics

- cleaned up and deleted unused graphics & reduced the size of the table

- Updated my mechanical set of sounds to a more "under the glass" sound.

- Changed the Environment image to enhance a little the object shadows.

- Some small script updates, like the Rolling sound and PlaySoundAt routines.

JP I love the look of this game but man the flippers lag behind the keypresses. Can it be due to the separate instance of mame running the display at the same time as vpinmame? It felt a little better running vpx 289 (vs 355) but honestly still hard to play when the flippers aren't responsive as they should be. Thanks for a beautiful update though!

try restarting pc?
cant replicate here but have no idea what you mean about separate instance of MAME running the DMD
at the same time VpinMAME is running it, because that is not possible

Well maybe I just don't know what to call it but it sure looks like mame to me. Its not a vp dmd, its a video game screen. Click on it and hit the tab key. That's mame (pinmame video mode?).  Same thing baby pacman or gottliebs caveman uses. the point is I was guessing as to why the flippers lag behind the key press and assuming might be a matter of clock cycles. I'll always defer to your knowledge though

It's VpinMAME, same as baby pacman

 

You could try setting usesolenoids = 2 in script and enable fastflips
rom seems to support it

I am not sure how much that will help your case though as i am able to run it without doing that on my laptop
and my laptop IS slow and laggy

That worked!! I have NEVER had to do that on any table, ever. My PC isn't a hot rod but it ain't no slouch either so it was baffling. Thanks so much for the fix wiesshund!

show a screen shot, to make sure you have the vpm display actually showing?

(if you do you can click it with yout mouse and hit ~ and a menu will show on it)

If you can not click anything, make sure this ROM is set to show vmp DMD, not set to use external DLL, and backglass is not set form to front.

 

The ROM can not be restarted, or it will remain black, you have to exit vpx and restart it if you quit this ROM back to editor

How am I supposed to be more thorough when I don't know myself what's causing it? 

Anyway, how do you make sure it's set to show the VPinMame ROM and not DLL or whatever you said?

run table in not exclusive fullscreen mode

press f1 check to show vpm dmd uncheck use external dll if checked
