Good to meet you Starman!

Since I discovered VP, Rapid Vienna Kick n´Roll has been my all time FAVOURITE.

Nova is EXTRAORDINARY.

Thank you VERY much.

Any plans for new tables, eventually in co-production if you do not have much time?

I am your fan. hi.gif clapping.gif

Wow, a post from "the" Starman.

I'm happy to see it as sometimes members seem to vanish into thin air and I always hope they are alright.

Thanks, Popotte wink.gif

Does it mean you get the music on AracdeHits?

That´s where i got my Rapid Vienna after a lot of googling, a long time ago & I also found F1, but don´t tell anybody! wink.gif
Thanks Popotte! Merci beaucoup! tup.gif

F1 is a great table (shhh, I have it too biggrin.gif ). I heard that Formula One ordered Black and Stein to take that table off a website. Is this true, or why is it not on any websites for download?

I could have been smart, but I never learned anything by being smart!

I just download it from a website while back. (Shhhh.... F1_v1.3.zip) It still out.

So why did Black and Stein got in trouble for on the F1 VP? Is it because of the photos on the 2 guys? Did it piss off the fans? I don't get it at all.

Because "F1" is a commercial entity, not just a description for a race. Companies have to restrict unauthorised usage of their trademarks etc or risk losing them.

From the F1.com site "The F1 FORMULA 1 logo, FORMULA 1, FORMULA ONE, F1 STORE, F1, GRAND PRIX, the logo of this site (being the official website of Formula 1TM), the Sweeping Curves logo and related logos are trademarks of Formula One Licensing BV, a Formula One Group Company. Hello,

I have tested RV with VP 8.1 and VP 9.0.7. In VP 8.1 there are thin vertical lines in the area of the goalkeeper and below, these are gone in VP 9.0.7, and the game plays very nicely in both VP versions on my side. It's a really original table in the best possible meaning!

I also just tried Rapid Vienna for the first time. Although I am not a fan of football, this table is absolutely brilliant and I highly recommend you give it a try. A FS version would be great - I must try and learn how to convert the tables!

OK, it's a french site (see my signature), so, if you have problem with french, just click on F1.zip and enjoy it!

The script for this game is from shiva. Starman removed all references to shiva. I'm noting this here so that shiva gets the proper credit in this game since Starman used shivaEngine to make it with.

F1 was taken down from most websites because Black and Stein used images, sounds, and trademarks from over 20 different individual companies in it without so much as asking permission for any of them. I would think using that many different logos they could at least have asked for permission for ONE, but no, they didn't. It's as if they were trying to see just how many companies and people they could get upset at one time to see if anyone would notice.

Theirs surely isn't the 1st original to rip off mutliple licenses.

However, their table isn't like other tables. Their table has its own installer, & can be installed & played on any pc, even if the person doesn't have VP installed. It really is its own thing, its not a vpt table in the normal sense. & I think that is what drew more attention to it & cause more issues with the licenses.

Great table for its time though, there is nothing quite like it, & its a great player, good flow.
I accidentally deleted mine from my hard drive a year or two ago, went to look for a new copy & couldn't find it right away.
But for those looking, there is at least once site I know of that still hosts it. I think if you know how to use google you can figure it out.

& I don't think its quite within the rules for me to link to a table that the authors have not uploaded here themselves & has caused controversy. But if its deemed OK I'll gladly throw the link out.

' by shiva, and Cold1
' Thanks to Destruk, Black, 4Eyes, and various other authors.
' Some examples were taken from other test scripts, authors uncredited in that script.
' The above copyright and remarks MUST be included with your table on public release

This is the copyright, included with the official release of shivaEngine2 and the template, as well as the b1_1 template and I would say it's very clear

This is not about anything, other than basic respect. I know that it would be foolish for me to demand that kind of respect, because you don't demand respect from anyone, you earn it, and I admit that sometimes, I didn't earn it, but then, I'm not the only one on that list either. There isn't a single old timer here that doesn't remember what has happened to this community countless times with multiple authors over this very issue. As a VPinMAME author, I can be accused of doing the exact same thing, but this isn't a VPinMAME table either. This is something that took 4 months to do for the first version, and done by multiple authors, and what took me over a year to write the second time.

I am not demanding respect, I was just asking for it. If I made a mistake that causes a problem, then I am sorry.

I will also use this space to clarify a couple things. The first version of shivaEngine was written by Cold1 and I, and it was done before the great NS scandal. There were a couple versions, the first test copy to people, and other versions afterwards. The authors that we used code from we credited, but we also had to put a blanket thank you to those we couldn't find in that script.

se2 was completely rewritten by me, and there is very little if any from the first shivaEngine in there. We used a code example from Destruk he had written and released before the project was born, the basic display driver by Black, (though not a lot, because we were not good enough to understand it properly) and 4Eyes code was written by him for shivaEngine. The engine, and credited in the tutorial table included with VP, was based on the old spike script.

When I quit this community last year, I re-released all shivaEngine series, you no longer have to "ask" me anything, I have transferred that right, and as long as the credits are there, you can use it how ever you want, as long as you don't claim it for yourself and then sell it commercially. I also made available all the se3 engines, and tables, all unlocked, again with copyrights, because you have to nowdays.

It doesn't mean though that I am correct. I may have forgotten something, or remembered something wrongly, but then, I am only human. But, I do at the very least, expect the same benefits that every single author that is here, or was ever here should have, even if it makes me look like a complete moron for forgetting something or another.
