Has anybody tried to run Pro Pinball in Vista, either timeshock, big race or fantastic journey and did it work

In case someone else stumbles on to this thread (the OP is kinda old!)

i just set all four of them up on 64 bit windows.. they all work fine.. they are the 1999 gamefest set versions

The web and timeshock work just fine as NRG images, and mounted with Magic Iso.. (seems ISO images don't get audio, only NRG ones do)
Unfortunately, all the no-cd patched executables for The Web that i have tried don't work on Vista (at least for me)..
Big Race and F Journey work just fine using the No-CD patches, with Timeshock.. i haven't tried the no-cd patch
because it would mean no music, like The Web, it has CD audio
I haven't had to use compatibility settings for any of them either, strangly enough, yet they work fine.
I know other people have had to use the compatibility option on XP..

So if anyone else needs to know , well, here it is...

I fondly remember the day I was trying out some game demos on a magazine CD-ROM, and on it was a 40 second demo of Pro-Pinball The Web which required a full reboot between games. I think I rebooted my PC 100 times that day smile.gif. It really blew me away, the weighty ball, excellent sound effects, etc. It was quite simply light years ahead of any other PC-based Pinballl Sim. We really are truely spoilt these days wink.gif

hello everyone smile.gif

sorry for bumping the thread, but i'm having trouble with GOG's (good old games) timeshock and the dosbox it uses.

the game installs just fine. when i start the timeshock shortcut, dosbox loads first, then the intro to the game starts - the empire logo, the cunning logo, and the propinball logo. all right, so far so good. when i am to choose from the settings and the start of simulation, i can do only one thing - change the settings as much as i want. in case of entering the 'start simulation' option, the game crashes, exiting to windows, while dosbox takes a couple of seconds to fully quit.

i've tried with some compatibility options, but with no luck (i guess i've tried to add compatibility to wrong files, please read on)

as far as i understood it from the dosbox config file, the dosbox mounts the image of the game, and starts it (so the program isn't using the files on the computer). that's why they (the GOG crew) succeeded in playing the music while you play the game. i've tried buch of modifications in the config file, but with no luck.

could you please tell me if someone succeded in making the game work? as i understood, some of you are using the same version, bought on GOG?

my OS is win7 (not that different from vista i guess), on a netbook acer aspire one 521.

p.s. the demo version works just fine
p.p.s. if you'd like to se the video of what's happening when i open the game, here's a youtube link

thank you very much for any help!
