GameTronik has been good to me for the odd MAME and pinball rom on occasion.

Oh, and ArcadeItalia has a really good interface for finding a rom's required files. Lots of historical and media info for each game, too.

As far as I know most of the ROMs at archive.org are illegal. However, not all of them. It is only legal to download and play homebrew/freeware/public domain games such as found at the PD ROMs and the ROM Packs website.Bad quality, but these games are not copyrighted and they are completely legal.

I never thought that in 2021 will still playing MAME games, and after shutting down the Emuparadise I download my games from https://www.romspedia.com/roms/mame but I have a question about a good MAME Emulator any suggestion for that except the RetroArch emulator for PC.

Already when I discovered MAME 1998 I knew I will always play vintage games, and now it's 2024. I still do.  :db:

If someone wants all roms, (s)he might consider using torrent. Pleasuredome was already mentioned here 6 years ago. But that site is no longer. They moved to github.

I also host site with a small rom collection at https://ankman.de, but there are only those I fancy personally.

It has screenshots. Got feedback from some people who have forgotten the name of a particular game and then recognized it looking at the screenshots of the page.

I love late 70s to mid 80s pinball machines and arcade games. For my favorite arcade games please visit https://www.ankman.de/

MAME ROMS are now LEGIT to dowload at The Internet Archive.org. They even have a street legal online JSMESS Player on the site so you can play many of the oldest games without anything but a browser, though it does require a modern computer to run well.

The MAME ROM version is 0.151. You can download the entire set as a 42.8 GB. Zip, or click the (contents) link to the right of the 42.8 GB. download link in order to download single game roms by their MAME name.

https://archive.org/...MAME_0.151_ROMs

I love this site as there is No SPAM. No clicking multiple pages. No risk of virus or malware (barring a hack of the site).
It is almost exactly like the old school MAME ROM sites with a simple list of games and near immediate download of the ROM on click.

EXCELLENT!

Wow, that post is 11 years old.

Archive has a larger collection by now, even categories to be found if you use their search.

Personally I only play games from the late 70s to late 80s. I also have a webpage at https://ankman.de/ with only these MAME rims for download covering my personal interest in games. People here born in the 60s and 70s might have played some of these games in their local arcade when they were brand new. I sure did.
