I'm not that interested in TPA anymore. For me the VP version of tables which are also available on TPA are much better and have a much better light show than in TPA. The only plus on TPA's side is that TPA has a better depth feeling but lighting is somewhat awful...

I agree, their cab version would arrive a few years too late.

I agree with you on the issues you mention. However, I am still interested in TPA and want it to be successful in that I believe when all platforms are combined TPA reaches a larger market. It would be my hope that TPA can attract new people who then may look for better alternatives like VP. Perhaps a small number of these people will then take up some aspect of table building, 3d modeling, graphics....etc...etc.

There's a new third party camera mod available. Still no support for getting backglass on a separate monitor.

There is the cam mod 1.4 out so you can play perfekt on a 3 Screen Cab, with Backglas and extra DMD...
NoEx Cam mod works fine..
Playfield and Backglas and DMD all works fine with pinballx.........

Also a Mod is out for 2Screen Cabs also with seperate Backglas...Cam Mod 1.3

Ben was right when he posted that on 22nd August, but it is true that a new version of the mod was released on Friday to do just that. ;)

I was excited to try it in my cab until I found out that the seasons I purchased from Google play on my phone won't count for Steam in my cab!?!? Grrr... Not paying twice!

Bought the Xbox One a few weeks ago and installed TPA with ALL tables and as long as you see it as amusement it's quite good.

Not as good as VP though, but still, playing pinball on a 112" screen is pretty cool. So this weekend i'm going to fiddle around with

TPA on my cab, as it's a 3 screen setup i will give cam mod 1.4 a go ! The main problem with TPA on the XBOX is still the poor

physics implementation and limited camera angles........ and i don't think the PC version is any better.

Nâh, i think i'm just spoiled with VP ......  :dblthumb:

Not sure if close to VP10 release or

little faith in TPA....

I am in the little faith in TPA camp now. Did anyone catch the twitch feed tonight for POTO? Apparently, Bobby King indicated there was legal issues with cab support?  :throw:

I really suspected that legal issues were the crux of the cab support issue. I think that when it takes the next jump from being a "in perspective" single screen computer or phone game to a cabinet based game with multiple screens that more closely captures the experience, it can trigger a knee jerk reaction from licensors who probably feel that the software companies are putting out a better, and potentially more lucrative program, without them receiving more compensation. We are so fortunate to have a strong open source software like vp and all the variation it supports... not to mention the current practices of the respective copyright holders to not pursue action, knowing that the work we do INCREASES the value of their original product and license (there are a ton of games out there where the market has gotten much better to folks being familiar with them through their virtual counterparts). We are really in a sweet spot of mutual gain through alternative reinforcement of copyright.

Agree that nothing beats VP. Better physics, so much choice including old EMs that Farsight won't touch anymore, and a great community.

TPA did some recent physics tweaks to the Steam version but still not that great. At least it gets pinball to the masses I suppose.

The recent cab support decision does seem quite odd, one minute it's developed and the next it is pulled. Maybe plans for a commercial cab????

TPA makes me feel like the Michael Jordan of pinball (even on a phone). Like there's magnets on the good stuff and force fields protecting the drains.

VP rules!

As for no cabinet version for TPA...

I just setup Pinball FX2 recently, and I had to go to the Zen website and provide my name and email and state whether my pinball setup was for hobby or business use and they also wanted a picture of the PC/Cab setup to confirm, before enabling the Cabinet features.  Works great now but strange indeed

dboyrecords i can't speak to the googleplay phone version but season 4 and 5 are far better now on the pc. It was mostly season one that had been tuned so easy for ramps(Creature for example)

sure they could use some better modeled ball spin and target deformation, but things play reasonably well now. I love VP too..just think theres room for both.

Heres screen cap for yesterdays release using my 2 screen setup.. It plays and looks great ,easy table tho.
