I have all 4 roms in the roms folder. I have the table script pointing to Voltan. All I get is the bumper and flipper sounds, nothing from the rom. Is there a possibility the sound is turned off or all the way down? I tried hitting the end key and 8 and 9 but nothing happens. The sounds I hear are only the vpinmame sounds listed in the sound mgr screen in the editor. The Rom sound effects are not working. Anyone have a clue why this would not be playing the rom sounds?

I have 628 tables and Voltan works for me.  I think the issue is that you have more than 700 tables   ;)

Seriously though, try pressing F1 and make sure the "Use Sounds" and "Use Samples" are both checked.

they are both checked. Question though. Is there a way to access rom volume control for this table? I lost the link I had to all the different tutorials on how to adjust sound on the various brand of tables. Is there a method for this table? Wondering if the volume is just turned all the way down? I tried pressing end then 8 and 9 but that doesn't seem to do anything. Not sure how to open coin door on this one.

found this:

http://www.vpforums....?showtopic=5220

but hitting end then 8 or 9 does not work on this table. Is there another way to access options including volume on this table? I have to think it is turned off or all the way down. the dip switch is set to play sounds and samples.

For these tables you need to do the following (I will give you the how to for desktops):

1. Click on the PinMAME window (the window showing the scores)

2. Press the tilde (~) key (the key to the left of the 1 key) - this opens a white box inside the window

3. Using the up and down arrows scroll through the options until you get to an audio channel

4. Using the left and right arrows adjust the volume of the channel (left arrow key lowers the volume, right arrow key raises the volume)

5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 if there are other audio channels to adjust

6. When done press the tilde key to close the white box

7 Click anywhere on the table to return focus to the table

I don't recall how this is done on a cabinet but there are other threads dealing with this on the forums.

Hope this helps.

was able to access the above but unfortunately that did not fix my issue. I still only get the mech sounds, no rom sounds. this is so odd. I'm out of ideas.
