Kruge99, I am on the steam beta group and they did try to get the pinball wizard to work just before the latest release but it screwed up the game when having it connected and there was not enough time to fix it before the season 3 release, so they decided to  postpone it.

I would imagine it will be supported soon since they specifically tried to get the pinball wizard controller to work and are aware of how cool that device is

Great!  Put in a good word for me and my e-mail that I sent to their technical support - and if necessary - I can give them direct feedback from a completely home-brew cabinet perspective.

Todd.

Not bad, but honestly, it seems to me that the latest VP version of Cirqus Voltaire beats this hands down...

You can add players but it's via their own interface and not through the DMD. You can map cab buttons to any keys and navigate menus via cab button (Edit: works for Ipac2 - please see Todd's post below). Unfortunately can't insert coins as it's on free play. There are many things VP does better and I still prefer it, however TPA has a promising future if they add more cab options, DX11 lighting, ability to increase difficulty such as slope, etc. Also I like how it helps introduce more people to pinball, easy to install for average person, etc. One day they might add an editor they said.

I am not sure which ROMs they are using.

I agree. The lighting in the VP version is outstanding, it plays beautifully and looks awesome, and the clown changes made recently are unbelievable. VP also does EMs so much better which are my favorite tables. FS Don't have table resetting sounds, general table sounds, and of course a working backglass. Hopefully TPA will get better over time and learn from VP.

Wow those physics suck

I disagree.

In case anyone hasn't seen the PS4 dark mode lighting videos that have been cropping up on YouTube. This is what the PC DX11 update will bring. Will be interesting to see what people think.

CV PS4 night mode:

MM PS4 night mode (channel has other night mode videos)

Just to be clear, as of today, my understanding is that the Nanotech diy plunger kit and the VirtuaPin plunger kit is not supported by TPA yet, not even the buttons are supported yet.

I am surmising that Settingsons is using some other encoder, like an ipac2 for example, which is actually a keyboard, which is probably why he can map keys to his cab buttons.

Todd.

Thanks for clarifying Todd. You are correct I use the IPac2 so basically keyboard keys can be mapped to cab keys if you have an Ipac2 using the keyboard mappings menu in TPA.

Cheers

I suspect Xpadder would work well also for cab control mapping.

Have you played TPA's CV?    At least on the iPad, looks can be deceiving.  It's pretty but there are bugs galore, the worst being that the highwire multiball lock doesn't work correctly.    I can't get through a game on it without encountering some obvious problem.   I reported it through Farsight's official channels over a year ago.    They acknowledged it but never bothered to fix it.     The VP version is just pure joy to play.

When Farsight gets proper cab support, I'll likely buy into it if they do it well, but will be buying tables on a very selective basis.   I also like that the VP versions look and play differently from the games I play on my iPad.    VP doesn't have the fancy moving camera angles, but on a cab you don't really need them.

why due they do that?? and what are they doing to the rom's to have it like that? also how much hidden stuff in the games can't be done due to not mapping all buttons all the time is lost?

Let's say they do jackbot will they map the EB button all the time or will you just miss out on useing that in game?

I suspect Xpadder would work well also for cab control mapping.

Xpadder works for me with one of noahs new controllers in PA as well as PinballFX2.

- one "stick" is mapped to the Z axis for the plunger that in turn is then mapped to a key defined in-game.

- another virtual "stick" is then mapped to the X axis for left right nudge.

I do not have a y axis mapped yet but I see no reason it wont work.

This is all digital not analogue but works well enough for me.

If using Pinballx the Xpadder plugin will swap profiles on the fly for both PA and PinballFX2 .

Now if only they could sort out that wonky portrait mode view.

Could you share specifics of how you configured your nudge and plunger in Xpadder with the VirtuaPin kit?  That's the only functionality I haven't gotten to work in FX2 so far.

Sure no problem at all but first lets be mindfull that it is digital so you may be dissapointed.

So in PA my plunger and launch ball button are both mapped to ENTER and left right nudge are A + D.
