AW,  you are making it more difficult than necessary.

i think i know what the problem is.

you are typing the destination in the box.

the programs are getting lost.

let the PC install.

use the browse button next to the destination box.

install everything to C/programfiles.....(x86) or program files probably will not matter as long as you have the programs installed proper.

 

right click on the zipped folders. "extract all"

use the browse button.

click on browse, mycomputer, Cdrive, then programfiles.

click ok install.

right click on the 91x silverball.....send to desktop for the shortcut

 

do a search for the lost programs and delete them or drag/copy/paste.

i would start over.

No. The Installer103 has done its job; we're no longer concerned with it unless we wipe VP and reinstall later. Anything else that requires installation will have its own Installer or Setup. What we want now is to put VP915's three files into the Visual Pinball (VP) folder:

  C:\Program Files (x86)\Visual Pinball

 

By the way; without screenshots from you, I can't see what's going on at your end. When you entered the destination for the extracted files, did you type 'C:\' with a capital 'C'? If so, the files should have extracted to the VP folder, so we either do a search or try extracting from the zip again.

 hey gsgregg : I know this is takeing alot of time away from you for playing your pinball games so if you want to give up you can. I will understand.     thanks again gsgregg you are  the only one who is helping  me to get up and running. I'm beginning to have doubts. you said I should have a vp folder but I do not see one I got all the other folders but not the stupid vp folder .  the folder should read visual pinball folder.  the only visual pinball I see is a pinball icon  short cut that says visual pinball  and thats the only one I see on my desk top. the other choice is when I click on all programs and scrll down to visual pinball and when I open it up it has 2 folders 1) uninstall visual pinball  and 2) visual pinball. there are short cuts under the visual pinball folder. so I do not think these are it.

as for the c:\program files(x86)visual pinball  the only file that has that is the short cut icon that looks like a pinball thats the only thing. and again I must have missed what you said on the vp folder can you explain this to me again. if I do have the vp folder I do not see it on my desk top 

 

heres what I have future pinball 191 zip and open folder, vp installer 103 zip and open folder,  vpinball 902 icon short cut, vpinball915 minimal zip and open folder.

 

note  "open folder "is another folder that windows 7 makes when I extract all the contents out of the original zip file.  but i do not see vp folder.  all I know is this member gave me a link on how to guide for installation and setup in it it has about 8 folders that need to moved, place, replace, download this and that, delete this and or that,move this to this folder and move that to the other folder. folllowing this guide is stupid it was not made for a newbe well not for this newbe anyway. 

 

I wish I can get a screen shot to you but with w7 its  hit or miss mostly miss.

 

for the members out there it is easy for all of you to crisiticise the newbe when you guys been on this web site for alot longer than us. at least I'm trying but I'm not  haveing any results. and then you guys say read the installation and setup guide guess what I did and did not make too much since out of it so thats why I came here hope some member will point me in trhe right direction and I only got one members who is giveing up his time and try to get me up and running.  instead of criticising the newbe why don't just help them out for a change. instead of complaining. but then again I guess you guys do not think like that.

i was trying to help you because we all went through it..

GSgregg has been here a long time, and has given good advice.

 

oth, you need to get better first with the programs.

i tried to give you an easy way to get started in my previous post.

after  you get better you can create folders, install and experiment with the other PB programs.

for now use the 3click, pinmame and the 91xminimul to get the basic program working.

here it is.

 

well  B, pull up a chair and a pot of coffee.

there is a learn period for this.

the program is getting errors because the program and the 'puter is getting lost.

delete and reinnstall.

 

try this.....

in the getting started menu all the VPinstall programs for VPinstaller, pinmame and the 91xdesktop exec go into C/program/files.

 

1...install the VPinstaller  into C/program/files.

create the folders in the table folders.

right click in the white then click on "folder"

rename it for the tables

ex: VP8, vp8 originals, vp91x, vp91xFS etc.....

2...install Pinmame 2.5 to the  same location

after install look for the "VisualPinMamesetup" exec in the C/program/files.

open it then open "paths".

use the browse to config the paths to the proper VPfolders.

 

after installing 91x to the same location right click on the silver ball-----send to desktop.

 

load the all the scripts, music, nvram etc in to the proper VPfolders in C/program/files.

leave ROMS zipped.

everything else needs to be extracted or unzipped inn the VPinstaller folders.

 

from desktop click on the 91xsilverball shortcut.

a window will open.

click on file then open.

on a fresh install you might needd to use the yellow search box to find the pinball tables in C/drive.

 

if you  dont have the 91x shortcut on desktop go into the Cdrive and click on the silver ball where all the PB stuff is.

Do you need all roms for a table to run? I also have troubles getting the program working. I had i quite some time ago and played it a lot, but for the love of god i don't remember anymore

You need just the rom that the table calls for. If it doesn't launch, it will tell you what's missing. Or look in the script--usually right in the beginning you can see what rom it uses. Good luck
