I play this Pinball Table as Michael Schumacher.

It is the only "Stand Alone" VP table that I Know of.

Often ranked as one of the BEST VP TABLES.

Find it and play it if you can. dblthumb.gif

When it first came out, I played it twice and deleted it. It just wasn't my cup of tea. The fact that it's standalone wore off quickly when I saw that it didn't play that great. It may look nice, but after two games it bored me. I don't see why there's all this fuss about one table, which I always thought was overrated.

I am on the fence on its game play as it so resembles high speed but it is the fact that it is a stand alone that threw me! I was kind of hoping to be able to input its code into a wip to get it to run as a stand alone but nogo. that code is way beyond me! That is the reason it is special to me NOT its game play o ranything... but it still is a nice table considering it was made years ago!

I remembered this table and found it here.

I thought it was really great back then.

Unfortunately it is not displayed correctly under Win10.

After the start I can play but the graphics and sound don't load properly

game_t.png

Is there any way to get it to work properly on Win10?

Nice for bringing this up, never seen this before. It's Giving me ideas.

Packing that into VPPlayer is actually genius BUT the physics suck so bad so it would be nice to update that, so basically unplayable, piece of history.

Graphically it's still very nice, layout's good, sound, and this is almost 20 years on, so at the time this must have looked great.

The only thing I can help with is to say that it does work on Windows 10  (windowed and fullscreen). I didn't have to do anything special, just ran it and was fine.

Yes, that table looked very good at that time, as also did many other tables by other authors :)

Also I think this table came as an All-In-One table that did not need Visual Pinball Installed or PinMAME.

It ran right out of the box, with no installs of anything.

How does one get the embedded table out of the stand alone VP that more resembles FP?

actually, if you look at it in a hex editor, it looks a lot like fp

F1. That as far as I know is the entirety of VP7 and a part of the R/D of Future Pinball.

I found the reason why F1 didn't work properly for me.

After removing the VPReg.stg file, the table created a new one.

Everything is running now.

Thanks for the help.

We are in our own realm here. We do not compete or leach revenue from anyone. Music is the number one filer of claims, but their claims are for loss of revenue. Gottlieb most likely won by just asking with maybe a hint of legal action (i doubt it). A case they had no chance of winning in court. For one the statute of limitations had run out and for another none of us ever recreated a pinball machine. I once crashed Ford into a Chevy showroom and bought a Chevy to drive out. Cool story. It was in a video game called Test Drive. Oh. Not the same thing is it. It would match the claimants story in a judges mind though, going after a video game for stealing from real life.

If I was worried, I would be worried about the companies that paid for rights to produce video games based on pinball (a cold description of what we do) for profit. Especially the ones that bought exclusives. Worried that they might sue, but not worried they would win. (I guess that is assuming competent lawyers)  I would sue (if it was me) the pinball asset holder that I paid the exclusive for and out of court of course settle for no less from them than to have them mitigate the damages.  No one else in a thousand years. Not music, not film or likeness, certainly not anyone that makes mechanical things.

I also doubt that F1 made a claim against Black's F1 table as he says. That would not make sense. Him pulling it did. It was not just F1 that was pulled remember, it was also VP7. Given how things developed at the time the ending was predictable.

I suspect that the editor was never stripped out. I believe it merely did what any low level hacker with a smattering of C++ understanding could do with every version of VP there ever was. Not that Black was that. At least the VP Player was in there. It hauled a lot on its back that it would not have need for with an installation of VP7 if it was structured so, which was expected.
