Ohhhh, why the frown, those mechanical coin validators sure can be a pain, mine i got working only after

some major cursing and lot's of hours fiddling with the darn thing. Some tip's : keep it level, clean, and

straight , don't use things excessive like WD40 and such. Ohh and be patient, i broke two, one ended

against the wall....... :throw:  :diablo:

Gone fishin', no really.......

Funny that you mention it, there is a possibility to actually earn money with virtual pinball cabinet if you put it, lets say, in a bar... it could work! ;)

it would be nice if you could find the gun trigger, but i hear they are becoming pretty rare.

I have a gun assembly  on my cab, and i love it (but my faves all use a gun handle, like GNR, LW3, T2 etc...).   Really love it when you get to use the gun to shoot the badguys in LW3 (while trying to keep the ball in play)  'Diplomatic immunity revoked!'

Also, have you thought about 'chopping'  the backbox (like take 20 cm or so off)??   I also have a 90's backbox, and it is just SOOO large......  you could probably fit TWO 29"  tv's in there (could you?)

actually chopping the backbox would destroy the artwork on the sides which is a NO NO !!!

besides that if you check the first post you can see a picture of the 29 and the 15 inch lcd snuggeling in the backbox

fits like a glove so i am happy!

a big backbox also gives you the oportunity to run a real DMD and third screen both at the same time...

looks a little funky but hey VP in a cab looks funky from the start :D LOL

recently added a real DMD from pinled , it is the 16x16 type , i like it

only bad thing: when batman forever comes out on VP i can't display it on the real dmd because they used higher dmd resolution for that pin....

well maybe it is possible to bring it to the backglass somehow ... we'll see :D

If you got paid for emulated tables from Stern (or Jersey Jack when they get emulated), I suspect there'd be some serious upset.   :)

There might be upset with other emulated machines, as the IP is still owned and licensed.

I imagine, however, that you'd be able to find enough original table creators who'd give you the green light free of charge, if you gave them credit.  There'd be a nice thrill at knowing your table was out there being played "for real."   IIRC, some of the songs for In the Groove (a Dance Dance Revolution commercial clone) came from fans.  In the Groove was sued out of existence, but nobody has patented pinball (thank God!).

Some people might feel ripped off by inauthentic physics., despite the hard work put into and improvements coming from 2.x and Zed.  Perhaps the new Unity stuff will take care of that, or the rewrite of VP.
