Bring back the good old days where you could go down to a shop and buy a game off the shelf. They seriously need to find an alternative to Steam - I certainly wouldn't install Steam on my cabinet, and I don't want to enable internet on it for sure as that means Steam running, a Firewall, Virus Protector, etc. and these will almost certainly screw up the performance of the VP tables which I certainly don't want to give up

Offline mode for Steam, if all you do on the net in that cab is Steam you don't have to firewall, or worry about viruses. Unplug when its not needed to update.

ah thanks Kloog, so there is an offline mode. Does Steam still it need to be loaded everytime you want to play a game? Just wondering about being able to launch a game from a front-end, etc.

I'm pretty sure Steam needs to be loaded to play a game on Steam. I think I saw on the GameEx forum they have a way to launch from at least their front-end, so it should be possible in any front-end I would think.

I love Steam, but for something like this I'm kind of disappointed that it's on Steam. You can only be logged into one computer at a time with your Steam account. I might have to make a second account when this comes out just for the computer I play pinball on (and cabinet users will have the same issue).

I refuse to buy a game I don't want just to vote. What a crock of shit, just another Steam gimmick to make money. I've NEVER installed Steam, & proud of it. If Steam ends up being the only way to get TPA for PC, then I'll get it. Until then, I sure as hell am not gonna buy something just to vote. I'm so irritated with this because they are saying, after a delay of like 7 months, that the PC version is finally ready.... BUT now we need to wait god knows how long for this thing to get enough votes (if it EVER does)

ROSVE: Like I wrote above, not only do you need to be a member, but you need to purchase a game first too.

So, I have to pay to vote? No way!!!!

You have to have purchased something in the Steam store previously to participate in Greenlight. As Greenlight is intended to serve as a tool to vote on games you'd buy in the future, I'm not sure why that's so outrageous.

w/o cabinet support- I don't see the value to me. That's all I really want from this software. If this gets all caught up with "voting" and such nonsense it becomes dumb.

Remember the "old days" when a company just created a product and sold it? Now it's all kickstarter and more......

You mean the old days when things like this weren't even possible? Farsight is a tiny company and they are putting out super high quality, big budget, licensed tables.
Maybe we should get Microsoft to make all our tables again?

I hate the direction a lot of things are going including gaming, PC, console, or arcade. In fact someone please make me a time machine so I can live from 1979-1999 over and over.

On the flipside, no more configuring interrupts and futzing with config.sys. Also, 1920x1080. Just saying. :)

This. PC gaming is a LOT easier than what it used to be. No more fiddling with updated video drivers(well, not so much), having to create boot disks, memory management, or fighting with hardware compatibility. With things managed at the OS level and such, it is a lot easier to get games going.

Wow what a way to kill the PC version. I can't see them getting enough votes to release it. I won't be voting if I have to buy something on Steam nor would I want to install steam. Bad move on their part.

Yeah - imagine not needing a brain anymore to run a computer... it's the way things are going these days... And heavens forbid if ou would ever need to troubleshoot anything that breaks... lol... :)

I for one cannot stand how things have gotten. Dumb down everything and take away all thinking. Just saying...

Please stop the whining and vote if you want to see this game out on PC. I bet that there is a minigame out there that suits your taste. Take Braid, for example.

Personally I have purchased every table on my iPad and iMac. I support what Farsight is trying to accomplish here but considering there is yet to be cabinet support I will NOT put a single penny into the PC version til that happens (especially since I've already got the mac version). This is just my rant (and I'm certainly not gonna spend a penny on some other company's game just so I can vote for Farsight. I don't blame Farsight for this but Steam can go blow!

I think actually liked the old dark days of DOS, being a PC gamer meant you knew something. If there's no fiddling there's no fun, in fact fiddling may be more fun than most games, maybe that's the problem the games are the same just the fiddling fun has been reduced.

I'm surprised that there are not more people with Steam installed, lots of good games, some are less than 5 bucks that are very good. HL2 or TF2 anyone?

Well, I guess not all of us are really into PC/Console gaming, my thought was only to give a vote to help you guys who wants this game. But not if I have to purchase something I don't want.

PC gaming shouldn't have gotten to a point where you either buy from Steam or don't play at all. I don't understand the exclusivity. As a consumer I want deserve more options. Why can't it be available in two places? Maybe I would even pay more for it just so I didn't have to use Steam. I just don't get it.

Voted! And I hate to say it but SlamIt Pinball Big Score isn't enjoyable, no matter how I set the physics. >:

I know, right? I wish there was some OTHER place to buy PC games, like Amazon, GameFly, Green Man Gaming, Desura, or Good Old Games. Oh, wait.

In this particular case, they desire Steam because it's the easiest way to distribute DLC. They've already said that several times. If this was a standalone game without DLC, they wouldn't bother trying to jump through Steam's hoops.

That said, I LOVE Steam, and don't understand the hate. It makes downloading games and keeping them up to date incredibly easy, in addition to selling the games themselves for dirt cheap through their seasonal sales.
