Real nice job on these B2S mods, Rosve. Thanks a bunch for taking the time to create them and for sharing with the community.

With this one, the DMD is appearing on the backglass and I'm not sure how to move it to my 3rd monitor. Any ideas?

Also, for many of my B2S tables, when exiting the table (in Hyperpin) using ESC I believe the B2S backglass remains in focus, disallowing me to spin the Hyperpin table selection wheel. I will see a "Form1" in task manager. A workaround seems to be to hit ESC a second time. Is there some configuration that I may be missing?

Yes.
You must go into the table script and change Launchbackglass to False.
It will be near the top of the script usually.

Thanks for the reply Arcade4. I have tried that as well, based on a comment from Rosve in the AFM B2S thread, but it doesn't seem to help my issue.

I have the vpt and exe files titled identically - exactly as extracted from RAR. Does the Hyperpin xml entry require anything special aside from the game name change? I'm still using my original Backglass Image which does not share the same title as the vpt and exe files.

Could you explain to me what should and what should not occur when I set Launchbackglass to false? When I do set it to false, the table opens with the original backglass and does not fire the B2S backglass, which almost seems intuitive to the setting but completely defeats the purpose of having the B2S table...

Wow. That does sound strange.
The Hyperpin entry does not require anything other than the first line with the table file name must end with the B2S.
Maybe if you copy and past your two files in your tables folder and your xml file here, we might can see what it wrong.
Sounds like you have everything correct.

I grabbed some info from my cab. Here's what I've got that may or may not be relevant:

FPLAUNCH.exe 205KB 8/29/2009 12:44pm

HYPERPIN.exe 4589KB 4/8/2009 7:59pm (Version 0.5.0.0?)

Looks like the FPlaunch is from 2009, that is too old for B2S support.

Thanks guys...I'll get a newer version tonight and see what happens. FWIW, B2S does work, its the exiting that is screwy. (im still curious about the false setting and how that's suppose to work.)

The BG will not be launched from the table script if set to false.

This release works/looks great for me.
I appreciate your hard work.

When i first played it, i don't know if anyone else experience this, but the left flipper was "6" more "end angle" than the right, so when you had both flippers up, the left one was higher.
If anyone else is bothered by this, i changed the settings of the end angle to match the same settings from the right flipper, and i got a 74 million game. The shots are still lined up and work well.
Hope that helps some others who are ocd like me...lmao

Hi guys just a quick question on B2s

is it possible for a table to use a unique screnres txt file.

i want to have the thing image on the botom of my DMD monitor but when i position it correctly. the Funhouse scoreboard is to low and not central in my DMD.

Is it possible to change the script to look at a unique TAF screen res file??

Thanks Paul

I'd like to know how to do that too. Is there a way to set the screen res for a individual table? You know; so table A can run just on two screens with no DMD on the third screen kind of like funhouse, and table B can run with three screens and the B2S monitor could be stretched to hide the B2S DMD to give a bigger backglass and then run the DMD on 3RD for table like TFTC?

If you want, I can try to adapt my current nvram script that allows you to use a single rom for different tables but keep separate nvrams and scores. The only caveat would be that you would have to add it to every b2s table you have, not just the ones you want to appear differently. Just not sure how this will work w/ hyperpin/fplaunch, as I assume the screenres.txt is accessed by the b2s.exe itself when launched, and adapting my current script won't rename the screenres.txt file until the table is run, so the b2s.exe may get launched before it is possible to change .txt files.

I need to look at this. if the flipper settings differs, it's a mistake by me.
I'll update the table when I get home from work.

I'm not sure if this will work with the front end you are using but you could put the tables and a new screenres file in another folder.

An updated version is uploaded.

Fixed the Left flipper end angle.
After playing this table quite a lot I realise that it is too easy compared to the real machine. I think I managed to make it play more as it is supposed to in the update.

Yeah, but it's still not as hard as it should be. Need to find out why it is so difficult to make it difficult smile.gif

Lol...i like your style.
the game "technically" plays very well.
if the table slope or something made the ball drain quicker..that may help...but that may throw off other shots and things.
i think the bottom flippers are very very good as is...the top flipper feels odd....too strong at times...and at times it feels like the angle to hit the trap door is off a tad bit.

Hello Roger,

man you've been working like a demon!! Just back after a few weeks break and there's a plethitude of B2S releases!!! This is very cool, thanks for your efforts my friend smile.gif

just a note on the physics changes you've made. I think a gravity constant of 1.9 is too high. In this table it has really stifled the elasticity of some of the the playfield objects such as the flippers, overall play feels like the ball is being unaturally dragged down. This is easy to change though to match indiivdual tastes.

Ok, onward to download the other B2S jems!! drinks.gif

I've played funhouse (the real) about a thousand times and I think I'm getting pretty close to the same behaviour. Still some work to do on the upper flipper though.
With gravity at 1.9 and the slope at 6.5 it is much more like the pins I've had at home.

I haven't played Funhouse that many times, but had some good sessions at the end of last year.

I'm not saying it doesn't play like a real Funhouse, but the general ball movement over the table, in particular the way it reacts after contacting objects that shold be made of rubber, seems unnatural. The other thing seems to be that any speed the ball is carrying is killed off pretty quickly. This can be seen when the ball travels down an inlane with a flipper raised, the gravity setting soons stops brings the ball to a halt without it running off the flipper. I'll see if I can find some video examples to explain my points better...

p.s. in a dark garage the backglass looks superb!

Yeah, it's made to be played in the dark smile.gif. Thats how I like it.

I'm pretty happy with the flipper settings but I could try with more bouncy rubbers.

Hmm I don't know if it is just me but when I shoot in to the mirror hole and then have the ball come out the right kick out. I usually leave the flippers alone all together and just let the ball bounce pass to the left flipper where I trap it. It seems I can do this on every version of this table consistently with out worry. On this version sometimes the ball comes out weird 1 out of 3 times and just hits the flipper dead with no bounce and drains in the middle. I even had the odd time where the ball would not even hit the left flipper at all and just straight up send the ball down the middle.
