geez but that was a quick build! what'd it take? about three weeks? wish My pins could be built that quick! of course the four I am currently at work on were on hold since I was learning that new 'case select' routine from Dan, now that I know how that works i can continue work on finishing them...
good looking table! love grizz's work on it, are both versions in the same zip file? I am guessing that it only opens with 9.1.1 if you are using that large a PF pic. I cannot click HD render on at all; my vp's all crash if I do that. so I guess I will resize the pf pic with 9.1.1
So you built your own from scratch? man that takes some big, well, a lot of guts! Glad ya' know enough to build from nothing now! Kind of bugs me to see guys I bring here pass me by with their coding knowledge, gotta love learning disabilities...oh well i am learning although at a much slower pace than the norm it seems...

The full design and 98% of the coding only took 3 days! When I added tilt and fine tuned other things, and resized other stuff etc, that took the balance. I pretty much started on this right after I got let go at work. By the way I finally got that call and they want to give me the job. We just have to talk money now, but it looks like I can stay off the road because they said of everyone one else who applied, I was the only one with yard experience. That's what I wanted and why I was waiting for this company. 1,000,000+ miles is enough, I'm content to move trailers around the yard- even if it's 45k as opposed to 50k. Were talking a 5 days week too! With Saturdays being rare! I worked 26 weekends last year! I don't know about which version is best for this, I made the switch and finally dumped 9.07 and switched to 9.1.1 during the build. The only pic I know of that is bigger than 1024 is the playfield. The plastics gave me washed out colors untill I downsized, the playfield didn't so I left it that way to show the wonderful paint. Just for a reference, I have my version set for 1024 in VP9.1.1 and it plays great. Both versions are in the zip, it's only about 20 mbs or so. coffee1.gif

Thanks Dan. This was the one I was waiting for- I'd go back on the road if I had to but I really wanted to do this type of work. I can back a trailer as good or better than anybody and as for the yard- I've been a warehouse manager before, I think of the yard as an outdoor warehouse.

Funny story about backing trailers. I was at a place unloading, in a 53 foot dropdeck trailer (the big trailers with the little car tires on them to get more interior height inside) when I was done unloading I had to either wait for the spotter to open a dock to back into to turn around (I unloaded along the side on the buliding- outside) or, back up between 2 rows of trucks, 1 on each side, throught the spiral driveway with trucks inline on both sides, into the street and 130 degrees jackknife into the cult de sac and pull away. I did this 3 or 4 times a day and didn't think twice about doing it because I know my abilities. I did it one day and a driver came out to my truck and said "that was amazing, I won 20$ because of you"! Apparently they were betting on how many times I would have to pull forward and straighten up! He won with 0 because he saw me there every day. So parking trailers all day isn't a problem. rofl.gif whistle.gif

good luck with your new job! Glad you are finally off the road, i know what that's like! I used to run Bekins moving vans (18 wheelers for you laymen) all the time up and down the east coast in the 80's. I hated that run...you load up 6 houses in the truck then drive nonstop to your destinations, sure the money rocked but i never slept at all! I am sure you'll make a great yard jockey just watch out for those swinging barn doors that some trucks have. i have seen so many of these get shorn off due to distracted drivers not watching out for the open doors! or not fastening them in the open position just letting them swing freely. If i lived closer I'd apply there too (if I ever get off this damn workers comp case of mine) btw i am accident free with well over a million miles under me only one speeding ticket in the 90's (was snagged doing 95 across the Throgs neck bridge in a 14' cube stick shift toy truck (I say toy cause that's the smallest truck i ever drove more like a big station wagon to me))

Barn doors coming open are my pet peeve! I know that all drivers say everyone takes a door off at one point, even the owner of the new company I met with said "that's harsh". I don't believe in **** happens. I pay too much attention for **** to happen. I know I've been told many times by my wife that I think like a machine (which probably explains why I've picked up coding so easily) but it doesn't happen if you pay attention. The incident that got me let go was a fluke. The door came open when I had no visibility or notice to stop. And, in now going on 17 years of driving- was my first door.

I said before that I was happy knowing the place was better off with me there, now that I think about it that's sad. If the place is better off with me there then this precludes the place is in kaos and I'm holding it together. Doesn't sound like a place I want to be.I guess that's a different way of thinking about it. Anyway I'll be better off, the new company is doing so well they can't take on new buisness- hence the new plant.

I was worried about the game being too hard with the middle toplane being a drain monster so the flippers are a bit close. Take about 5 off of the flipper length and this should make it a bit tougher.

Today I had a bit of time to play VP & i was looking for a simple, relaxing, not too intelectual, you know : bumpers, lots of target, increase/collect bonus, the basics, the essence of pinball, in short EM style & I remember this one, western version. I don´t know if this table is already "monk approved" but it entered today in 1234fd favorites in VPMan, in a restricted, selected & noble company: Bob 5453, Eala,Sphere, Starman, JP. otvclap.gif

I will be waiting for the next one, no hurry though!

I agree and I usually don't go for the EM look or play style! I like it, it's easy, uncluttered play field is nice on the eyes, the sounds are good and it's enjoyable! All making for a good well rounded pin! One of the few I have in my download areas I do play often

Kruge99 recent recreation of Sinbad WS is another serious candidate. What matters to me is more the pleasure I get at playing the table rather than technical &/or graphic perfection

Thanks Sabbat, I was very happy with the way it came out. I always thought VP Tribute was very underrated in popularity, but then "Tribute tables" of any kind are seldom very popular.

I thought we did convert this to FS? Maybe it was forgotten. Rosve if you're interested...you have my blessing as I don't know how to convert them. Only to build them. (I have to read the OTHER side of the cereal box).

Itchigo, very nice table.

I don't always read the fine print ... so I went searching the IPDB for it but couldn't find any Gottlieb table named "Cowboys And Indians". Then I looked and saw again that this is an original.

Dude, this is an original?? Very well done! Looks like a classic Gottlieb table! Thought it was.

I'd have to disagree w/Sabbat, but only because my humble taste is different.

I think this is better than Rube Goldberg. Cleaner layout. Definitely could pass for a recreation ... or more along the lines of "If you were designing for Gottlieb in the mid '70s, this might be the next release from that manufacturer".

What would you call that? Wanting to make an original table, but with the expressed intention of making something a mainline manufacturer might have released as their next big thing? "Fantasy Gottlieb" in this case. Around the time they came out with Royal Flush. cool.gif

RG2's physics are better. I've modded the crap out of my Cowboys and Indians though so I now agree with you, it is a better table smile.gif

That's what I try to go for. Thanks for the nice words. I was in the buis since I was a kid and have played many, many different pins. (See my site for more personal info). I have a good players perspective and try to translate that into my tables. I go for stuff that looks like it could have been real. I can't take all the credit though, Grizz did the graphics, and I consulted with UncleWilly on a couple of coding issues.

Sabbat, I still owe you my wip to check out. Finalizing a few things first, maybe today or tomarrow. It'll be called Itchigo's Quicksilver, my version of Quicksilver. It won't have graphics, Wildman is doing the graphics. dblthumb.gif

Well, thanks smile.gif

Actually, I shouldn't knock the Rube Goldberg table. As I understand it, it was Itchigo's first? I'm working on my first table at the moment. I'm trying to do left and right lanes like his left lane. That combo of targets and kickers is pretty cool, never saw that in any arcade table that I recall.
