That looks beautiful UW!

One of us smells like a tart's handkerchief. Afraid it's me. Sorry about that, old boy.

now a test with transparent pegs, thanks to lord hiryu. not using alpha so should be no performance hit

So it is alpha pegs causing the performance hit then, i though it was using alpha ramps that causes the performace problems?

well the pegs i and many others use are made from small ramps. if set to alpha there is a big performance hit for a lot of ramps.
for instance. my bop table between the pegs and actual ramps uses 3000 + ramps for the table objects. if they were all set to alph it wouldn't play. the peg pictured doesn't use alpha so there shouldn't be an issue. i'll let you know as i go through and replace them. i think it looks better and more like a transparent peg then the others.

The devs are working on the performance hit.

For the plastics edges i had 84 ramps making them up and when set to alpha the table stuttered. now it is just one ramp making all the plastic edges and it's really smooth.

Hopefully we will get a bug fix undate to the vp9.10 soon

Ah ok, thanks for explaining that UW, i never knew the pegs where made up of ramps and sooo many too. So in your opinion the way you have done the pegs now, they look as good if not better than doing them the old may. Is this the same way LH and JP do the pegs hence why there having problems too?

The peg pictured above is using lord hiryu's peg and there should be no issues with them. I'll let you know when I get them all on the table

Just played a game of your test table UW.
(Picked up the link from the other thread)
She is a bit sluggish, but hopefully that will get fixed in time cool.gif
I am using a GTX 260 with 896mb ram for the playfield

Looks freakin awesome though - those plastics are great and love the layback setting biggrin.gif

Hey UW,

REALLY NICE!!!

the pegs with alpha textures, set to SOLID!!! "should" look transparent but "should" not cost any more performance with the current engine. Just try it. The ball will be invisible "behind" them, but i think thsi is not an issue with pegs. This is a "sub feature" ;-)...

Solid Ramps are prerendered with alpha, but alpha is not calculated while game play.

I forgot to put them in the dropbox. I'll do it when I'm back at home. Lord hiryu made the pegs. He is the master

Looks totally amazing UW! Fantastic work. I love the 'shine' bits at the edges of the transparent plastic. Absolutely outstanding.

Table looks and plays fantastic!
I just can't seem to get UVP working in the updated table? I guess I should say I can't get the displays to show up, lights are working fine. I don't know much about scripting, but the usual added led timer, etc. isn't working for me in this release. I am sure I am doing something wrong or missing something. Can anyone point me in the right direction on this? TIA if anyone has any input.
