there is nothing wrong with getting extra balls...its the buy-in balls that are not acceptable.

Please keep all dipswitches that effect score and gameplay the same as the day you downloaded it.

Well I have launched Triple Strike according to VPMAN over 130 times, so I've probably played over 1000 games of TS. Trust me... it was not an easy score to achieve and probably will never be broken.

anyways here is my new JPvp9 ElviraATPM score 15,303,010

I thought that the 'no-no' was the 'buy-in' (fourth) ball; earned 'extra' balls are to modern pinball what hydrogen is to the elements of the Universe, and disallowing them would be positively draconian**. Now, if there are easy/normal/hard or liberal/conservative adjustments that have been set to the soft side, I guess I could be a sport and conform. When I joined VPF, however, and downloaded PD's Centaur, all I thought about was the way the machine/s played back in the day and I set the dips accordingly---now I can't be sure what the original VP settings were, so some day I'll rename mine, download a new one and compare it to the settings in the PDF that ta2686 steered me onto. That way (wink-wink-nudge-nudge), I'll have a five-balls-per-game ROM waiting in the wings.

Being curious about what's actually in an NVRAM, I tried to open one to no avail....I'm going to hunt for the right 'opens with' program unless I find out that it can't be opened by the likes of me. Any opinions?

**Edit: Didn't see page 19 or post #361 until after posting---sorry about restating unnecessarily.

was same for me... than simply erase the nvram file, a new one will be create at the next table restart, dont change anything at the first ask-launch-setting, just leave all as it is, and than we are all playing on the same step

i suppose its OK to change ALL is not interfering with game skill...
to me, as said, in the '80 tables, i enable the matchbox option and set credit max to 40 : nothing that change the game

dont know well this table, but im already pushing you back with 14M and a "3M" shoot missed... aaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh wink.gif
i suppose we will have much higher scores soon, cause i didnt see (and made) all the things to do on the table
the multiball is quite frustrating with NO time-saver at all... its quick drain with the VP9 velocity of the game

OK, last for today, must go to work...

redo one for the HGTT than
its of course harder because of not having EB,
BUT
its easier in a other way because the original setting for G-L-O-B-E is not moving thrue letters, and than you complete more GLOBE (& points) of course

Well, I did a double tour of duty on TOTAN (JP 2.1) and scored 187.555.870, still not enough to beat Harakiri's score!! Grrrr....I botched both genie battles and could have had 50M more. I also discovered that the lamp stops giving spins at 1.190.000 (119 spins) and that means no more easy jewels from the lite a wish foundation. Anyway, it's still a nice score, so I thought I would post it anyway.

Did you know that "playing pinball" is called "flipperen" in Dutch? Now you know and may your life be enriched by this arcane knowledge....

Well I figured that gaminglord's 46B was beatable on AFM Groni 3.3 (VP9) so I scored 62.449.805.610 and destroyed 139 Martians! I went ROTU once (had to go for multiball 3x before closing out) and came halfway a second one. I got the Martians by combining Martian multiball with TA, did that twice. I also scored my first Dirty Pool! All in al not a bad game but it will be some time before I score big on this one like the 125B I got on JPG-Pins 2.2 (vp8). Funny that karlojule got 126B on JP new VP9 machine. I will post that VP8 score later. Now for 2 screenshots:
Slam23

I did 125.210.476.360 on AFM JPG pins 2.2, back in the VP8 days. So far the idea that VP8 was easier than VP9 is holding up nicely if you check the leader board by Sabbat Moon. I still like this version though, even with "ball through flippers" annoyance and slightly less realistic ball movement. Here comes the pic (now I see I did post that earlier in this thread, back at page 2, ah well, nobody probably looks at those ancient pages anymore smile.gif ) :

Here is another SCARED STIFF High Score JP vp9 ver1.1 that is only slightly better than Slam's, Ive got about 38 GAG for completions of scared stiff. This was my best. rolleyes.gif

I've got a tourney record from Pinball Unlimited for Drop-A-Card from bob5453 2009a ver. but I think it was a vp8, which I won with a 25xxx, and 131Billion on JP AFM ver. 2.2, but that was also vp8. If more people post vp8 I will include some, but otherwise I'll stick to vp9, I am really loving the flipper settings and elasticity/more randomness of the flipper bounces, it makes it much tougher to control, but exciting also!!!!
