maybe this is just me, but I really dont want to see VPX out of beta just yet... there are still some bugs, and performance issues... and who doesnt like getting new features every week or so... I think its like the gift that keeps on giving (wait is that VPX or herpes?) anyway the devs are on a roll making this VP, the VP of all VP's and I for one aint ready to get off this rollercoaster .... thats my 2 pennies ;)

Little Timmy wants second screen support for Christmas. :dblthumb:

I too hope this is on the road map for the future.

I will wait patiently, for a official release. I would just like to say thank you, to the developers. And wish them the best of luck, to getting the bugs out. And getting a great pinball simulator. Merry Christmas.

what? no it doesn't, plus it's given me the opportunity to release my broken tables and hide behind the facade of the beta as an excuse, if you remove that title then my inefficiencies are fully exposed!

I hold NOAHFENTZ responsible for that!!

I have made numerous comments and requests for him to add a "proper" VPX section and here it is - almost a year and nothing - but at least hes made sections for UNIT3D pinball!!  :stunned:

I don't think there should have been a dedicated downloads section for beta tables, a lot of people who use the site aren't privy to the happenings on the forums, so they would see a VPX table and start to get it working then get upset because it's broken. It sounds like a big headache. Unit3d....that section shouldn't exist lol

@parabolic: actually the dev team was against that, as it was about beta testing, not a public 'release' with public/official downloads, etc. and all of a sudden we got over 100 tables piled up.  ;)

Yeah - my dumb ass didnt think before I posted. It makes sense until a final version that there not be a table section for the reasons listed prior. My apologies to NOAH for calling him out without thinking.

Personally I don't think VPX is ready for release, IMO does not play anywhere near as fluid as previous versions. Have these micro stutter issues been rectified?

VPX can indeed play as smooth or better than any other previous versions of VP with the "right" settings configured on your system.

Take a look back at these posts starting here and going back about a dozen or so with the information and discussion between myself and Hauntfreaksfor how to achieve using a combination of VP settings, nVidia control panel settings, and Windows Aero / Desktop composition settings:

http://www.vpforums....176#entry324717

gStAv also reiterates / summarizes our findings in a condensed post afterward with some screen captures.  Reading the whole section / posts regarding that conversation will still help though to understand more about ultimately tuning and achieving fluid game play as well as being made aware of some potential gotchas and odd Windows behavior while setting / verifying these settings.
