I'm getting 4 or 5 fps with the vpx version of the table, fps goes up to 60~ when the animation on the dmd stops. My system is pretty weak and I thought It couldn't handle ultradmd and vpx, but the fps stays at 4-5 even when I quit ultradmd and let the table stay on. Any idea what might be causing it? This doesn't happen with th vp9 version of the table.

My system is core2duo 2.2 ghz and a gt240m, quite weak. I also tried the table on my desktop with c2d 3.2 ghz and 9600gt, the same problem is there too but it can keep the fps around 40 most of the time.

I'm guessing that this problem either doesn't happen to most of you or that it is not noticeable on a much more powerful system.

It wasn't about working fine or not... Check the fps if there is a big difference during dmd animation and static image.

How do you guys get that super neon green looking DMD? I've tried selecting different colors in the settings but can't get that neon like green.

That depends, are you using a real DMD or not?  Are you talking about the guys who have real DMDs or those of us who have just a monitor?  If you're using a monitor, is it a separate monitor?  I would think it's just a brightness setting on the monitor itself

Shoopity here is a screenshot (with my phone) of that Udmd error.... I have 685 GIF files...

Hmmm... that looks like the Tech Target being hit.  Is it always when you spell tech (when you get the H in Tech)?  Have you made sure you have the most recent versions of both UltraDMD.

UDMD should be at version 1.1.150215

And you need to make sure you have Beta 0.2 and replace XDMD.dll with Beta 0.3 Preview

I do not have a real DMD, just a laptop screen setup as a 3rd monitor. Guess I'll play with the color/brightness.

What color specifically are you choosing in the UDMD settings though?

I'm using a monitor also and have it looking like that nice bright green. Make sure you use the color LIME and not Lime green. Looks great.

Just a little teaser, I've got somewhat of an options menu working.  I have not shared this code with Fren yet, nor have I updated the VP9 table yet.  Currently all you can do is bring up the options and select them, but they won't actually do anything in the game.  I'll work on making these settings count next week.  Eventually you'll be able to:

Select the power for:

Flippers, Sling, Pop Bumpers, Left VUK, Right Scoop, Auto Launcher

Change the following settings:

Free Play Y/N

Coins Per Credit 1-8

Balls Per Game 1-9

Tilt Warning (need to implement tilt first)

Video Mode Speed (need to implement video mode first... yeah right)

SFX Volume (further down the road since this will also mean chaning the PlaySFX routine)

Music Volume (same as above)

Extra Balls Y/N/100 k/ 500 k/1 million

Spot Pops 0-12 (how close you are to getting the War/Bar spot)

Allow Replay Y/N

Allow Match Y/N (need to implement Match first)

Tournament Mode Y/N

Extra Ball at 5, 10, 15, 20 (how many EVPs you need to collect before getting awarded an extra ball as defined above)

Combo Timer 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 (seconds)

Video Mode (need to implement it first... don't make me laugh)

Zero Ball Y/N (if a ball drains without scoring anything, even if the Ball save has timed out, give the ball back)

Scoop Time 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 (seconds after the ball shoots out of the scoop the ball saver is active (this currently is hard coded at 2 seconds... yes, there really is a 2 second ball save every time the ball shoots out of the scoop, I swear))

The fps problem doesn't happen with the newly released Captain Future table for vpx, so the problem is with this table.

When the fps drops to single digits during ultradmd animation my cpu and gpu usage also drops, so it is not about my system not being powerful enough. I'm just trying to help find what could be causing this, so please, don't ignore.

Kaan, i wish i could help you, but also on my Cab is all ok, more: FPS up to 160-170, but min. 110-120 at Animations, and nothing about any Speed-Problems

It is more pronounced the slower the pc is, it seems it is happening with you too. I get minimum 45 fps with 3.2ghz desktop and around 10 fps with 2.2ghz. Outside of animations it is around 90 to 60 respectively. This doesn't happen at all with that Captain Future table I mentioned.

Ah well, I'll just won't play this table. Maybe the problem will be discovered in the future. Happy to be of help either way.

Is anyone having a problem where when it tells you your bonus on the dmd it shows nothing, just like ghosts caught but no number? I notice it with the last two builds, a possible dof conflict? Other than that great game. I'm definitely playing this the most on vp. Ben Heck needs to mass produce this machine he's got a hit here. This is like a Williams game.
