Sindbad, in Truck Stop the ball behaves strange on the flipper fingers when rolling down the inlanes faster. It seems that it suddenly jumps backwards at about the middle of the flipper fingers.

Hmmm ...

I just changed the flipper settings because you told me, that the ball immediately stops at the upper end of the left flipper finger when holding it up. Even if I couldn't reproduce this, I changed the friction. Maybe we're not talking about the same. The upper end of the flipper finger when the flipper is up is the smaller end, right?

Presently I don't know, what your approach is. I'm also not able to reproduce the behavior. Could it be that the ball has spin? If you can reproduce it, can you take a screenshot?

Edit:

I was able to reproduce it. I changed back the friction to the old value of 0.8, then it's gone. But then there's the problem that the ball suddenly stops at the end of the flipper finger, right?

I'll test that and eventually make a video!

Edit: I'm just trying friction 0,4. Looks better now. But have to further test this.

And would it be possible for the next revision to use the regular plunger provided by VP? These alternative methods are a pain for analogue plunger users. Only the regular plunger works as expected.

I'll always try my best to do it right. But I realise that I'm not able to it right for all users. Another user "warned" me that he would not play my tables when they don't have an impulse plunger and that using the VP plunger is "crap". So I decided to use only impulse plungers. Now I realise that an impulse plunger is not the best friend of all users.

Sometimes I'd like to give up and let others build the tables ...

Okay, I'll check if I can add an option to the config dialog where you can select plunger types.

It takes all kinds Sinbad. I am warning you right now that I will be playing your tables NO MATTER what you do with the plunger. I love your tables. Keep up the good work!

Sindbad build them how you like to play them.. You can't please everyone and someone is always going to bitch.. 85% of the time it's the same people complaining about something.

ClarkKent seems to never say anything unless it's negative. How many tables have you built CK? Your always 1st out of the gate to bitch about something but I don't see you spending hours and hours building tables from scratch and sharing anything but nagging and negativity around the community and putting people's work down! Your annoying!

I also have a cab with an analog plunger.... and change 80% or more of the tables to the standard VP plunger it easy to tweak and can get the full range of shots from skill shooting to just blasting the ball... where I think the divide is, is desktop users and analog cab users...   also don't ever let others kill your passion or enjoyment... do what you want to do the way you want to do it...what works for one person might not work for another, its the job of the end users to get it to work right on there system..... I personally enjoy all your tables....

I wonder why a different kind of plunger was ever developped if the one VP provides by default is the best solution!?

Hey guys, keep calm ...

CK only asked if it's possible to change it. And maybe it's a good idea to check whether there can be implemented something that works for all.

On the other hand, the truth is that it's really really impossible to build an always-fits-for-everybody table. And I agree that a table is more or less a framework that can be aligned among the given on-site environments and standards.   ;)

CK,

the VP plunger is a VP object, the impulse plunger is a VPM object and can therefore be ROM controlled.

OK, good to know. Nevertheless the impulse plunger does not really work very well with analogue plunger devices...

I just thought once more about it and it's so funny that it could be a scene in a comedy:

A tells me: use impulse plunger, and I do.

B tells me: don't use impulse plunger, but I can't do because then A would be disappointed.

So I have to discuss that with A and then with B. I'm standing in the middle between both and I have to negotiate with each of them. What would be the perfect solution?

A contacts B and together they'll find a final solution. They inform me about their final decision, and I'll build it. That would be the ultimate procedure, am I right? :otvclap:

I guess my point went right over your head! You also didn't answer the question I asked.

To get straight to my point this time so you don't get confused.....

You and a few other members bitch and moan about tables that takes the author building them many hours to create! Again I don't see you spending hours and hours releasing a from scratch build. But never the less your always 1st out of the gate to say something negative about what took the author many hours to make. We do this with our free time and it's a hobby but you always have something to say about something your getting for free!

A positive critique is alway welcome b/c in the end it can make a good table better but over the past few years I've noticed everything you say (and trust me I've been holding this back for a wile) is negative and all you do is nag about the same crap! After a wile it gets old and annoying! So again to my point, just shut up if you don't like it! It's ridiculous, rude and uncalled for after all your getting the table for free! So stop bitching about everything! I for one am sick of it!

Lol. Continue to build how you build. If anyone else really feels the need for something to be changed then they can do it themselves. Easy enough, don't worry about it so much.

I privately discussed such things with mukuste lately and such messages like this one is exactly the reason why he stopped developing. Such people like you are disturbing the community. You are destroying everything without even noticing. Where is the negativity when only asking for a standard plunger? You are really really sick.

I give back to the community and spend countless hours of my free time to give all the awesome people here something to play on their cab or desktop.. What do you do other than complain? It's you that is the problem not me! Maybe I'm wrong and someone will step in and put me in my place or maybe I'll just say forget it and stop building tables altogether. Maybe I'll just finish up the few projects that are already started and b/c of people like you the community has lost another author who will just step away and fade into the distance! Think about it what will you have to play then if we all just stop building tables!

I'm a graphics guy and I contributed a lot. I made scanned playfields for SS, RS, BTTF, EATPM, ES and some more, made all new plastics for TOTAN and sampled all mechanical sounds and many other things - but I will not contribute this here if people are behaving as you are.

You can not start insulting people just because of asking for features and reporting bugs! It seems to me that you like to make mountains out of molehills and you like witch-hunting. Never forget that mukuste left because of such behavior. Think about that.

That's why I like the alternative forum more. I never saw such ridiculous and disgusting discussions over there. This forum here seems to attract such people.
