From my many years of experience each wire should be soldered to a spade fitting on a mame cab or pin instead of crimping.
It just lasts longer as wire can break while being crimped and eventually come off totally

cleanup is done!
the computer i could never figure out how to make a drawer that i could build so it can just sit there...for now

the sub

the mercury nudge switches which work perfectly

the wires from the right flippers, launch and plunger all neatly packed inside a tube

front view of the cab

the adjustment menu buttons and the ipac wires all neat and tidy (the best i can get them anyway
)

the holder for my lenovo cordless kb/mouse for when i add tables etc

now for the final step...the glass!

Wow.
All of that looks just awesome. Love the little keyboard tucked away on the side.
My cabinet is just a mess of wires everywhere because I am always pulling everything in and out for testing purposes.
Once I get everything situated I can work on getting all the wires put up neatly.
I know I have seen the answer to this in another thread somewhere, but since you posted a photo of them....
Where is the best place to order mercury switches. I would love to add those soon.

Well really they aren't real mercury switches they imitate one with a ball bearing
This is what you need to find:

Thanks for the direct links guys.
From the photo it looks like you have a nudge left and right.
Is the clear thing in the center a nudge up, or is that just a wire tie together?
Also I am guessing the two wires going out of the bottom of your cabinet are a computer power button and maybe a reset button?

it's a wire cap i tied the 2 nudge ground wires together into the ground and capped them so i didn't have to join 3 wires separately into 1 ground wire which would have been a pain plus i would have had to use longer wires and it would have been messier. I don't use a center nudge i've never needed it cos I'm too good with the left and right i do have it and i could wire it in but I've never needed it.
the wires or should i say the 2 usb cables going out of the bottom are into the green neons under the cab. these are it.

Being in North America, you may find it easier to order mercury switches from here. I ordered these, and they are pretty solid (and they're real mercury switches, no ball bearing things). Less than $4.00 each.

Even better. Those will get here very fast from Oklahoma.

i'm still having trouble understanding how the black plastic glass side rails go. the way i think they go would have them sticking out but that would look weird. i've tried to find some pics but can't seem to find any of them close up or the pics i've found the glass is under them i can't get mine like that? can someone show me some close up pics how their supposed to go with and without the glass in them?

Is this for the playfield, or the backbox?
If it's the playfield, the slip into slots on the top edge of the wood, with the glass channels facing inwards (of course). They stick up off the top of the wood, and the siderails come up over the sides and over the plastic guides. Once in place, the lockdown bar is removed and the glass is slid up from the front of the machine and into the guides and ultimately into that plastic piece in the back you were asking about a few weeks ago (thus the plastic channels on the plastic guides needs to line up).

Still have to cut my slots in yet,
maybe just trim the bottom part off the plastic guides and glue them on top of the sides.

And the siderails will help them stay on , so will the lock bar.

i think theres something wrong with these mercury switches when i use them there's like a few ms delay b4 the ball moves?
Easy way to find out - load Notepad, then nudge - see how long it takes for the keypress to show up.
