Tested build 514 yesterday. I use FXAA, and that old problem where there's haze on tables in Hyperpin appeared again. I didn't have time to test on a bunch of tables, but it's possible it's only on T2, I didn't see it on a couple others. Maybe related to the crazy reel stuff that tables has going on?

Maybe this will help. I just retested JPs Badcats vp915 1.1.1

build 476 -           300-400fps

build 478 -           300-400fps

build 491 -           250-300fps

build vp915.exe - 250-328fps

Seems something added in 491 is causing my rig the slowdown.... It appears 478 not 476 was the last one with full speed.

I see Region Updates was an option that was added, but I don't have this turned on.

Well I'll be darned that was the problem!

With Region Updates.turned ON, now the same table that ran at 300-400fps with build 476 is running at over 500fps with the just released vp915.

Thank you VERY MUCH!!!!!!

Official 9.1.5 was built from the new 9.1 branch created in revision 504... so 9.1.5 = rev504

with 525 I have distortions on the ball if it moves through alpha flashers light. Wasn't with the last revision I had installed (501).

that's why we have the release/change-log in the official 915 release where this is written down.. :)

the other builds really are always experimental..

how did you configure the two new region options (region update and region optimization)?

Can someone please try out JP's Theatre of Magic VP91x v2.1.1FS 2.1.1, with the GI flashers - in 9.14 this table plays fine but in 9.15 I get a weird graphical glitch when the top left flasher goes off. Its a tall, thin box and flickers on and off when the flasher goes. It appears on the lefthand edge beside the top left flasher.

I am running rev 524 but it is present in earlier revisions too. With rev 476 where it is exactly the same but I went right back to rev 331 where the glitch is minimal but there is still something flickering (much smaller and not all the time in rev 331). As I said, it doesn't happen at all in 9.14. I tried re-downloading the table but it is still there. I'm running XP 32-bit. I have tried reducing the texture sizes, turning off UVP to make sure it's not related to my graphics card being stressed out, but it's always the same.

Any chance you can grab a screenshot of when it happens?

ok - it was pretty difficult to capture while playing and when it happens it looks more like the first 2 images here, but the flickering makes it seem like there is more of the white part of the glitch (than the orange) than is shown there. Unfortunately I was unable to capture it after quite some time:

Those are dropwalls, which I used to make a flash light on the sides of the "cabinet". Those things have happened in all the VP9 versions. Nothing new. The easiest way is to decrease the zoom, I guess it is the YScale (I never remember if it is the XScale or the YScale). That happens because each card renders the table different, depending also on the resolution. So it has nothing to do with VP915

Are you sure? When it is flickering it definitely looks like a graphics error and it doesn't happen in 9.14 at all. Or very much in rev331. I'll try playing with the scales tomorrow though and see if I can get rid of it. Is the idea to just push the flicker outside the field of view?

The idea is to get those walls inside the drawing window. So reduce the Yscale by 0,01 until it doesn't give you the error. People have been doing this for years. I adjust the values so they fit to my screen, and we have seen that in other resolutions dropwalls can give those errors. Since the change in VP9 version it may be that the high objects (like ramps) have change a little the rendering view and the table has moved a little down or so, and that error comes up. Solution is still reduce the Yscale :)

On which tables do you see the distortions?

Btw. the problem with the alpha ramps is fixed in rev 532
