with the old version of Sorcerer (from PacDude i think), i got 2 scores at "9.999.999 round the clock" tongue3.gif

only 1 tip to score on that pin : always aim for the multiball, and when done, putting 2 more balls in it for the X5 playfield dblthumb.gif

Aliens 2, Area 51, Asterix, Bally Tribute, ET, Evel Knievel, Frontier, Galaxian, Inspector Gadget, Lilo & Stitch, Looney Tunes, Lost World, Mata Hari, Night Mission, Power Play, Rayman, Rolling Stones 2, Stalker, Santa Odyssey, Tempest, Timon & Pumbaa, Williams Tribute, World Cup 2002, Zombie

Tanx to (alphabetical order) : BLACK, CUTTER, DESTRUK, EALA, JP, JOE ENTROPY, KINSEY, KRISTIAN, LOSERMAN, LUVTHATAPEX, RANDY, SCAPINO, SHIVA, STRANGELEO (hope i did not forget someone... )

Hi Billy,

I'm not big on pre-DMD tables but Sorcerer looks really good. I'll give it a spin as soon as I can cram some VP time into my schedule.

About the WC finals: who would have thought that Spain would beat Germany? If Spain is really the better team of the two than I fear for the chances of Holland. Our players and coach sound confident though! It may be the nature of the Dutch to be grumpy about their own national team but they have been really inconsistent in games, not showing the killer instinct at times to really finish off teams. With Uruguay for example it was way to stressful how the game ended with them letting them back in the game at 3-2. I nearly got a heart attack from those last 3 minutes! On the other side there is no denying that on paper Holland looks strong as the only unbeaten team in the tournament. They also have proven that they can score, Spain scored less easily in their games. I'm curious if Holland can deal with the pressing playing style of Spain, they will have to answer that with good, short play of their own. Anyway, for both teams it's an accomplisment to reach the finals, Spain is even there for the first time I believe, we had 2 previous chances in 1974 and 1978 with a far better team than we have now. It will be a nailbiter Sunday!

Did you know that "playing pinball" is called "flipperen" in Dutch? Now you know and may your life be enriched by this arcane knowledge....

Some great scores, esp TOTAN. I havent figured out any strategy other than listening to the female voices in my head.
In the newsletter it seems that Noah is almost ready to host the tournaments to honor Computerfreak1. Is there a separate thread on the Tournament topic?. I certainly would like to step up to the plate and take my shots at whatever table is decided upon.
I hope there is some emails attached or a page/thread for sign ups and a practice window of time to familiarize oneselves with the rules. There are so many great tables to play on VP9 that I find I can only get good at the ones I practice and are familiar with, and on some that I haven't taken enough time to know all the tricks and secrets, I kinda suck at those... In some respects I kinda like the old school tables, where you don't have to think as much and just hit specials or drop targets...
I have been playing IRL the old Simpsons with the loop shot and three cooling towers/bumpers. It was in the arsenal of games at our pinball club, but the flipper needed work. Now that both flippers are working well, I have been playing it alot. Eventually I will cave in, once I get back to work, and start my own real collection. It will have to start with some cheaper gottlieb ems though.
Cant wait to tear it up with you all, it should be pretty exciting once the High Scores start rolling in when the tourney
starts!!!
Good Luck ALL!!! ANDROID

My ancestry goes back to Heidelberg Germany, but and I would have sworn that the finals would have been Germany vs. Netherlands. But after watching the semi finals, I realized how well that Spain controls the ball, and were even quicker ball handling than the germans. I believe that the germans came out of their defensive shell too late in that game. They werent aggresive enough like in the previous rounds. But you gotta hand it to Spain who outplayed and controlled the tempo/ball.I would have to give the edge to the Spaniards in the final, unless they get careless in their own goal. The Netherlands do play some outstanding defense though and could win it on pentalty kicks if it goes that far, or on corner or two.

Hi Slam23!
I agree with your words. Actually you should have passed a hard time in the last Holland game. smile.gif
Spain is based on the Barcelona players, winning team. They are strong. They play really confident in the game against Germany. But you have to believe in the possibility to Holland win this cup. After all, they defeated Brazil. smile.gif We had great hope in our team.
I remember the 198x Holland team... Van Basten, Gullit, Koeman, Rijkard... great eurocup team. But today you have Sneijder, Robben and others. They are good players.
Honestly, I'm neutral in this sunday match. I should support Spain because of my Spanish descent. But I hope the best team win. Neither Holland or Spain never won a cup, but always came very close. And if the two teams reached the finals, both deserve the title. It will be a big match and certainly I'll be watching this final on Sunday. Good luck to you and all of Holland!!!
Cheers!!!

Playing UR & Noah's Sorcerer this afternoon (original settings, no changes) I hit

5,894,300

I think if I had a little more time with it I could flip it. Once I figured out the "secret" to hitting the ramp with the right flipper it got a little easier.

Hey guys!
How about doing some kind of championship? Choosing a table or tables by vote to play for a certain period. I dont know how to do this in a topic. Someone with more experience can implement this. But what do such a ranking of the top ten placed on the table or the sum of the points in more than one table. I'm just giving a suggestion. just an idea. What do you think? Please give your opinions and suggestions.
Sorry about my terrible english! smile.gif

Had to check out Sorcerer since, its NF UR production.
very slick and fun, tough ramp shot. Still the flippers seem to close together when you raise them. I never once used the pin!!!, just not crazy about a pin between the flippers, but after and hour and a half I came up with a 3 1/2 million game and then this one!!! I am not sure what it takes for the extra ball, but I got one on the first ball, and before I had started ball 2, I had almost 4 million. I should have read the rules, but I kinda figured it would come to me, eventually!
I finished with about 5 1/2 million

Hi Billy,
I like your ideas! I think Noah is really busy implementing this functionality into a VP add-on that ties into the forums. It will be still a while till release though, so maybe we can set up something in the mean time. I don't have the skills nor the time unfortunately but maybe it's as simple as a gentleman's agreement to play a certain table and not cheat (so far as I know just the way we do it now only not coordinated around 1 table at the time),

Hi Slam23! smile.gif
First ... I feel sorry for the World Cup... Holland has brave warriors... but not this time yet.
Thanks for the words. I also like your comments and of the other friends of the VP Forums. This relationship further strengthens the pinball community. I'm anxious to see this Noah's feature you mentioned. Will be great!
For now we will posting a table at a time here. Who will choose the next? smile.gif
