Abusing stuck balls during multiball not required.  (Although I did get two tilts for trying to free stuck balls, but the game gave me so many extra balls, it probably didn't matter.)

I will assume you have the screenshot of your high score, and the directory that it is in.

HOWEVER if not;

Method 1:  Make sure you have the DMD score or screenshot of table with score on your monitor

Hit PrtScr/SysRq button on your keyboard.  It is located on the top row usually next to     FLock or above Insert.

Exit Visual Pinball and open a picture viewer like MSPaint, Irfanview(freeware that I use)

Click on EDIT then paste.   Name your screenshot, for example  Indy500FSHighScore and put it in a special folder

maybe within in Vpinmame as SS or My Pictures etc. and Remember the path...

THEN:   enter VPforums and our High Score thread and CLICK ON ::   Reply.......then MORE REPLY

                      OPTIONS.

LIst the Table Name, AUTHOR, VP version, table version and whether it is

FS or not, your DMD initials and the score.

At the botton you will see ATTACH FILES

Click on browse and locate your screenshot you want to upload on your post

Click open after you find your screenshot and then  ATTACH THIS FILE,

                      FINALLY  hit ADD REPLY and you should be done;

NOTE:   if you have multiple screen shots to upload and have reached the 512k maximum upload

limit,  start a new post with info on the next table and add screenshot, and usually it

will merge into your last post.  This is only how I do it,  I am sure there are others, and

I havent tried the advanced uploader yet.   I will try to post again with the advanced

uploader once I get used to it/ figured it out

                            I HOPE THIS HELPS!!

LMTR14: check the file size of your picture you uploaded.  It may be too big.  Noah Fenz has capped the upload size at 512k or half a megabyte. Usually only one or two Screenshots can be uploaded on the same post.  But if you are submitting a few Screenshots that are less tha 512k a peice, then post one at a time start a new post and they should merge as one as long as you type something in the message box before attaching file/s

Some people are using PINemHI for DMD high scores for both FS and regular 4:3 tables. cause he uses a frontend for cabinets and the nvram file which automatically finds your HS.  This thread is still used for all the other table versions and EM high scores.

I usually update about every 3 months unless it gets really busy, which it hasn't been lately.  A lot of people are playing real pins as well lately including myself.

 Cheers

(Board message?) You have exceeded your allotted disk space for attachments

why???

Yeah; what ANDROID said. I was going to remark on this, but realized I didn't know enough about it, so I took screenshots of my earth-shaking  VP8 Jack*Bot score and converted them to each of the image types in the 'Save as' box. Coincidentally, the recommended JPEG is the smallest file size (except for Monochrome Bitmap, but that will make your eyes bleed), with my 1024 x 768 resolution averaging right about 150KB. 2nd EDIT: Typo fixed (whew!)

By comparison:

16-bit Bitmap_______384KB (~2.6 times as large)

256-color Bitmap____769KB (~5.2 times as large)

24-bit Bitmap_______2.25MB (over 15 times as large)

GIF______________249KB (~70% larger)

TIF______________1.72MB (~12 times as large)

PNG_____________1.27MB (almost 9 times as large)

I recently read a post which cited PNG as being recommended; maybe it was just a 'typo', or maybe the poster was considering picture quality (I couldn't tell from what my CRT delivered), but the relative file sizes would seem to do all the talking.

If submitting a JPEG which, due to higher resolution, is too large a file, I recommend resetting VP to a smaller res and submitting that screenshot instead of the pretty one.

am I the only one still posting in this thread?

Hmmmm.....apparently not. :bar4:

I usually update about every 3 months unless it gets really busy, which it hasn't been lately .  A lot of people are playing real pins as well lately including myself.

Most of the heavy hitters are tuning their Mopeds and Evinrudes; IFPA Germany is only a bit over four months away. :D

PS: Hmmm.....Good job on ST-TNG; only 4.2B from 1st place in the High Score PDF, and you would be 1st in PINemHi if you had joined up. Looks like you are one of the heavy hitters! How's your German?

I was indeed trying to upload a jpeg, which worked fine in the past, but the uploading mechanism has changed for some reason. sure, changing the res would make the file smaller

PINemHI: I wonder how this is supposed to work...? the homepage doesnt really explain how one is supposed to create files and upload them or however this is meant to work??? Ill try to figure this stuff out, but the fact the executable file opens and immediately closes again when double-clicked is very confusing to me

@GSGregg

Im (sorry broken keyboard) currently working hard on getting my ST:TNG highscore back ;-)

Im Austrian, so perfect German, why do you ask?

great, I downloaded a newer version of vpinball to make it compatible with pinemhi, and now emulated tables are slow and basically unplayable. (previous version didn't have that, obviously)

any ideas what I can do?

Best way is to use vp912 and vp914 executable......
The vp914 should be used with vp9alt in the ini file.

If you read the instructions included in the download then it will all be a bit clearer i guess.
You should run the file start pinemhi leaderboard...not the pinemhi executable that's why you got the opening and close of the exe.

The program doesn't upload png's or nvrams but extracts the hiscore directly out when you played a game and sends that to the database.
But you have to read the instructions because it's very important to turn uac off and turning lastaccess timestamp on...

Hope this helps

Then you probably have a typo in the nvramdirectory in the ini-file...You should check if it's exactly the same and that it is the directory where the nvrams go to after play....

It could be the wrong one  when you have multiple vpinballs installed

Uhhh.....I guess, since the skull-and-crossbones flag makes no mention of your country of residence and the English you post lacks the ambiguities often provided by text translators, it didn't occur to me that you might not be a native English-speaker. And why ask? You do seem to know how to extract points from pinball machines, and speaking German may come in handy if you find yourself at IFPA May 31st---in Germany.

I was indeed trying to upload a jpeg, which worked fine in the past, but the uploading mechanism has changed for some reason.

Yeah. Did you get that figured out yet? I tried to figure whether your ST-TNG screenshot was let through in spite of being a 'little bit' oversized, or the attempt to upload a second shot put you over. Trouble is, I can't find the image info for either the thumbnail or the full shot (used to be if you quoted a post when replying, its image was replaced [in the reply message box] by title, pixel count, and file size; nowadays the image stays, and---in some cases---I can take a screenshot, load into Paint, name it and save it, then use right-click > Properties to get pixel count and file size.....) well, enough about that.....

PINemHI: I wonder how this is supposed to work...? the homepage doesnt really explain how one is supposed to create files and upload them or however this is meant to work??? Ill try to figure this stuff out, but the fact the executable file opens and immediately closes again when double-clicked is very confusing to me.

I'm afraid I won't be any help here; my computer is so lame (see GPU-Z in my sig for a laugh) that there are only a handful of tables that I can play smoothly; VP8 except for the later ones with fading and flashing lights, and early VP9 (9.0.x---most of the 9.1.x and later are too fast (speed setting) for even a single ball to move without stutter, and multiball just comes unglued. In fact, I haven't even bothered to update beyond VP9.1.2 yet; a one-gig Radeon HD4670 that doesn't like Hardware Device Rendering (AGP-8X is the culprit there) pretty much ensures misery.

great, I downloaded a newer version of vpinball to make it compatible with pinemhi, and now emulated tables are slow and basically unplayable. (previous version didn't have that, obviously) any ideas what I can do?

Like I said, I'm no help on the new stuff. Luckily, you're already in conference with the right guy.

I put my screenshot on photobucket instead of uploading it here

the only way I get a table to run 100% fluidly now is to set it to eye-hurting 640:400 full screen. really weird and aggravating why a new version would be slower than the previous one (I cant use hardware rendering either btw). just like gta 4, where rockstar managed to make the game both slower and uglier than the previous one when played on the same computer (just mentioning this because Im currently playing through that game ;-))

You should probably map the exitkey to e instead of the default Esc , you shouldn't get the error anymore.
