ah that one, that's a combination of the bug I mentioned and something else. I think I know how to at least fix that reliably. I'll give it a go this evening.

****This is just to "Archive" the original first post and all its edits****

So I just got word from Ben Heck, he seems willing to share ALL of the design files, sound files, 3d Meshes, everything for America's Most Haunted.  I think I'm going to have to send him a HDD because he said it's all about 70~80 Gigs worth of data.  Of course this wouldn't be a VPM table since VPM doesn't emulate the Parallax Propeller, so the code would have to be understood and re-written in VP.  But, this is also a DMD heavy game, so I would think Ultra/HyperDMD would be a requirement.

Is anyone else out there interested on working on this?

***Edit 11/14/14***

OK, here's something I threw together in a couple days.  He gave me over 100 gigs of stuff; although a lot of it has little to do with building a table as far as VP is concerned.  He included a bunch of videos (many he posted), even the .prproj files he used when editing/making those videos.  Lots of .spin and .h code.  I haven't dug through all the media, but I haven't found many .bmp files so I'm not sure just how much source material there is for the DMD.  Definitely all the audio though.

Table as of 12/17/14 (download this if you haven't downloaded it before and you don't have UltraDMD):

Most recent America's Most Haunted table.  Non-UltraDMD tables no longer maintained online, if you wish to try this, PM me and I can send you a link.

Table without Sound As of 12/17/14 (Download if you already have a table with sound that you can extract from):

Script as of 06/25/15 (use this link if I just post a script update with no table modifcations)

GIF Pack (updated 07/13/15) (Download only if you have UltraDMD), make sure there are 685 gifs to avoid "File Not Found" errors:

GIFs

Sound Pack (Download this only if you want to download the sounds separately from the table):

Sounds

Link to Music (Put these MP3s in a folder called "Music" located in the folder that has your VP executable)

Link to FreneticAmnesic's VPX table and other resources.

Added 02/20/15:

Youtube video; War fort mode and Minion fight

Screen Shot as of 11/26/14

***Please Note*****
  • The GIF pack is required if you're playing the DMD table.  Inside the zip is a folder.  Copy that folder into the same folder as your tables (or wherever you're launching this AHM table from)
  • The sounds shouldn't be changing any time soon, so if you want to download the sound pack now, then from here on out you should only have to download the No Sound tables.  Of course this means you'll have to import the sounds into the table manually, but it'll save you on downloading time.
  • See this thread for help with installing UltraDMD
  • The script from the DMD table is newer; however this script is not compatible with with the non-DMD table (I'm not sure how robust the code is to handle missing DMD errors, but regardless there are changes to the table itself that make it incompatible such as adding timers).

*****Edit 06/25/15

For the time being, I'm no longer maintaining non-UltraDMD versions.  If there is enough interest in the future, I may do some VERY simple scoring and pictures for people who really don't want to hassle with UltraDMD, but as you can see fromarngrim's video, I definitely think it's worth it.  I'm removing the links for the non DMD versions.

Also, as other people are starting to do the beautification of this table, that I'm just no good at, and adding super cool stuff like DOF, I'm getting interested in this again.  I'm uploading the most recent versions I have, which may or may not be the most recent previously posted (there are definitely some tweaks like moving the subway system off screen, but there may not be any game play/coding differences... or maybe there are).  I will maintain a sound and no sound version since that's a very easy upload.

As always, this is still in Beta.  Please do your best to document crashes or things that don't seem right.  That includes graphical stuff (e.g. I don't have the third flasher under the Hellevator, nor do I have any lighting effects for any of the flashers, or I haven't added an apron graphic, or even some basic outside walls), to game play stuff (stuff falling under ramps, modes not working right), to DMD stuff (e.g. the minion fight animation continuing if you drain during the fight).  Thanks!!

Please see the first post as I've updated the code to version 20 and incorporated some graphics of Frenetic's VPX table.

I played the abandon hospital mode and lost my last ball with the locket ball behind the door,

which made it impossible to restart the table again.

fyi im working on updating amh now, it should take care of that bug (finally) and hopefully have a fix for the other kicker bug, and update the code to a new version of the game. probably some physics tweaks too, I always see things I missed when I come back to update a game

Great Table playes very good

But sometimes the ball gonna be stuck. Here are the two pictures. From the first picture it is not possible to get the ball back to the game by shaking the table.

From the second ball stuck position it is possible to bring the ball back into the game by shaking the table.

Can you tell me how you got the ball stuck in the first picture?

I never knew where the ball was getting stuck, but I think that's happened to me 2~3 times.  I just do a regular left orbit shot and the ball doesn't go anywhere; since the trough is hidden, I couldn't tell if it was in the trough, stuck somewhere, sitting in that kicker, I wasn't sure.

I know we got balls stuck up there on one of the first releases but since i resized and adjusted walls, i didn't think it would be happening anymore. It hasn't happened to me at least, if I can see what route it takes I can fix it better but just glancing at the current layout the only thing I can think of is falling off the ramp somehow

Sorry, I don't know. I played so many balls and that happens only once and then I make the screenshot and can't stop playing and during that time and forget how it happens.

I've had it get stuck a few times under/behind the right ramp

And from which direction did the ball's initial trajectory take before getting unceremoniously sandwiched in an unlodgable location such as the underside of said ramp?

I think one time it was from a weak plunge and fell under the ramp

I have updated America's Most Haunted VPX with a lot of new additions by Shoopity. He's worked a lot and updated the code to the latest version. I've been back and forth with him addressing various bugs for a few days now and I think this is pretty solid now. There's more animations in the game and more features, more lighting (there's a lightning feature when you make certain shots) along with the progress bar which looks to be fully working. Again, this code is all his conversion from the original Ben Heckendorn code. It's pretty crazy. I've also tweaked the skill shot/basement and as far as I can tell, no ball should get stuck here. It never works that easily, but let me know if you get stuck. It will help to know where it's coming from!

I've also tweaked the lighting a little bit. It should be a bit more atmospheric which highlights things like the lightning lighting. I also added the new wall guides.

Also, of course, thanks for all the work that UltraPeepi has been doing on UltraDMD that makes this whole experience.

And thanks to the VPX devs for the work they've been doing that makes this table look the way it does. I'm really just a guy with a glue gun here lol.

Oh and naturally thanks to Ben Heck for this fantastic original themed table that's a refreshing change from the norm.

Enough ass kissing, let's get to the new build

Here's the download link

The GIF pack and Music pack should be the same as before so you just need to grab the table.

It's a large file size but it's all because of the sounds included in the table. I could separate them like Shoopity has been doing with the VP9 version, but since there's already so much to install I think it's a bit easier to include it at the expense of a few extra MB of bandwidth...

The readme file in the link should cover installation for anyone new who's coming to check this out, please check it out before asking questions. That being said, I'll try to assist with installation troubles that anyone has.

This is a table that deserves Ambient Occlusion. Enable it if you can!
