Google: smanve_101 , should be first Link, i uploaded the latest ROM to this Page what you can see,
and this should work.

Spiderman and Spiderman VE are two different Tables AND use two different ROM Files, if you get
Script Error, open Table (don't Start), open Script and search for the ROM Letters (e.g. "sman"), you will
find the ROM variable and can Change this, what ROM you want to use.

Put this ZIP Files in your /rom Folder, don't unzip or anything else.

btw. it isn't allowed here, to share "Stern SAM Files" ... ( or did i miss something ? )

Latest ROM Spiderman: sman_261 ( Googles First ), and as above,
Latest ROM Spiderman VE: smanve_101

A very fast flipper, but good playable. Mostly I'm in the range of 1.3 - 1.8m points.

Only one game above 2m.

Joey were you using modified flipper rubber on Spiderman or is that table totally stock from the download?  I've watched the first two balls of play to the 22:32 time mark and I'm amazed at how the ball just seems to die on the flipper and a lot of the time backup into a nice cradle.

No, I didn't change anything. It's the original table. I have leaf switches with no lag. So if the table has good physics, you have a fantastic control.

Interesting, I also have leaf switches in my cabinet.

I can see where the lack of warnings and tilt can really extend ball times.  Some of those nudges on the first two balls would have at least thrown a double warning on my cabinet if not tilted out.

Do you get to play a lot of real machines on location?  If so how do you feel your nudge and tilt bob settings compare?

Too much offtopic in this thread. :db: I'll send you a PM.

So for all the other folks who may follow this thread and it's scores what this really boiled down to is that some of us are using analog nudging on our cabinets while others are using magna-save buttons mapped to nudge functions.  So at least in my mind we are playing two completely different versions of VP

In one version we have players who have setups that allow for different amounts of nudging force to be added including too much which will trigger Warnings and Tilts.  In the other version we have nudge button users where when pressed the exact same amount of force is applied every time but just below the threshold for Warnings.

This is just another one of those things that makes digital play hard to compare from rig to rig.  The same could be said for real machines as no two will play exactly alike, you never get an apples to apples comparison.

A perfect example is Bowen's Spider-Man tutorial for PAPA:

That PAPA Spider-Man may play harder than any other one on the planet.  No center post, lightning flippers, no out-lane posts, tons of table slope, tournament mode settings, etc...  It's amazing to watch Bowen tear up such an evil machine.

I like Bowen's videos. He's a great player.

I don't think that the different versions of nudging plays a great role. As I told you, I nudge with buttons. I like to have analog nudging, but I haven't a real cabinet. So this is the only way for me.
These GOTW-challenges are only fun. We have to trust the others, that they play the same version of a table and don't make any changes to their settings. If they do so, to get more points, it's their thing.
Some play with desktop-settings and with a keyboard. I'm sure, that I don't get my scores with a keyboard.
It's only fun and a few of us enjoy this "tournament". :-)

Excellent point Reaper802. The whole reason I don't report scores here any more. I was sorry to see that VP9 nudging was back to VPX, then I knew it was even more pointless to try to win with that re-introduced. It is hard to find a well maintained machine where I live any more. So, only when I go on trips am I able to compare my cab vs a real machine. I came to the conclusion that mine is set at the moment to tilt easier than the ones in played in the wild last year. That is one factor. The is also a difference between playing my Desktop machine and my real cab. Don't know why that is tough. But, when I sit at my desktop modifying tables, I almost always play better than I'm able to on my cab. Don't enjoy it as much though ;-)

As Joey2001 says. This is only for fun. Because we are not playing under the same conditions. It would just be too complicated to separate users with desktop vs cab, vp nudge vs not, mechanical tilt vs analog vs none set.

And btw. Why do I have my tilt set so sensitive you may ask ? Well, my backglass front with the speakers and dmd attached is held up by magnets. I wanted to make sure that when I get people to visit it will tilt before they shake the machine so violently that those could come off ;-)

Up until three years ago I used to maintain the High Score Topic thread.  There I listed the table type FS or Desktop and version of the table.  and VP version. So there always going to be easy tables and hard tables.  But this nudging in vpx seems extreme visually.  Though I play on a 47 in vizio playfield I still rotate the screen when football is on and play COD and Quakelive with the backglass monitor. and my controls are a keyboard with nudge buttons next to the flippers.  I understand the nudging system employed by cabinet users is quite complex,  so not having to control the nudge with buttons and merely shaking the cabinet is the way to go.

is the physics and timing  behind keyboard button nudging controllable....I mean is there so many nudges available in a certain time period, since there is no variation in strength of nudge? I've been out of the loop for awhile.  I was thinking of still getting a pinball wizard controller to portably mount to my desk.  It senses nudging and would feel more like a pinball machine without building a cab.  Anyone have or had a pinball wizard controller, or are they standard for cabinet users.

Feel free to comment on any of the above. so far still only 1.7 million on mac galaxy not worthy of posting.

Here are the rules from the first post

Rules:
Enter high scores as often as you want.
Recommend to use default rom 3 ball settings, but this is for fun, so play the table the way you like it set up and post your scores.

Like you said we are all playing different setups. Nudging is just one item
You can play 5 ball or 3 ball or 7 ball
You can play easy or medium or hard rom setting
You can tweak the the table to your liking, move outlane posts
You can play on a Celeron based laptop with a 1024x768 screen or an I7 GTX 1080 with 43" 4K 120 HZ gaming monitor
You can play 1 game of 2000 games during the week
You could have digital tilt, analog tilt or real plumb Bob tilt or no tilt
You can even Photoshop and submit a score :)

Just enjoy the awesome VP tables and have fun doing it.

I don't have this weeks game

So while at a mates interstate Xmas party, I blasted this game on his Metallica LE. 3 ball Factory. But played much slower than mine does.

Was under 10M at start of ball 3.

More than once I've wish I where in your shoes. Being able to play so many real pins, and even crushing them. Nothing is more fun :)

I'm able to play Metallica only 500km for where I live. And last I played it, it wiasn't my day at all. I remember I could not get passed even 30M.

Fortunately all that was forgotten when I left Stern' Game of Thrones the same day ;-)

No. Not mine.

My mate here in Melbourne also has the GoT LE. We had a special surprise first, new colour Lcd display a week before release.
Looks amazing.

I am very spoiled for real machines, so whenever anyone visits this land, I can hook you up for some good collections to see.
