I stopped working on getting DMD to work, as the author (Caligula) stated that it is in a very early stage and more work has to be done on it.  I'm sure most if not all will work very shortly.

Fingers crossed! Oh If the code wizard Calig can get them running what a happy day it will be :) I just like the challenge and the quest of getting the DMD to work and learning the Vp editor a bit. I think I'm retiring form the quest as well, I got Batman DE running good enough rite now..  between Batman and Freddy I'm a happy camper.

Wow.  I am having so much fun with this.  This is the REAL deal.   So nice to play pinball in VR with good physics (as opposed to FX2VR).   I have everything lined up with my VR cabinet, and the experience is incredible.   Theres still some obvious glitches to be worked out, but I want to say THANKS to everyone who's been working on making this possible.

In this video, I bashed my face off my real cabinet at 1:48 forgetting it was there.. lol..

Now to get proper analog nudge, a tilt bob, and DOF in my VR cab!  :)

I feel your pain lol I've whacked my face hard into some things.. I was pistol whipping ghouls in Fallout 4 VR and put my 3D printed VR gun into the drywall... it was kinda freaky because when I cracked him upside the head I got some REAL feedback ;)

I'm just going to set this here and go get a cup of coffee.. DONT TOUCH ANYTHING!! :pardon:  NOT MY LINKS BUT ENJOY

Maybe it doesn't like the textbox.   Try adding a new FLASHER object to it and name it DMD and check the box for use script DMD. I would think that would definitely work, Obviously you have to size/position it correctly.

How on earth did you get flasher DMD to work..?

I've tried on several tables and can't get them to work in VR for the life of me (works fine non-VR).

Back a few pages in post #156, I listed a way to get some of tables DMD's to work, I doesn't work on the FSS tables though.

Sad to say but that won't help getting flasher based DMD to work, only textbox DMD which will be stuck in a default position seems to currently work.

Position and size are still hardcoded by Caligula. He guess he will change that soon.

Sure but if we get flasher support the position and sizer would be decided by the flasher which would be much easier, that would also mean that for instance a FSS table that already has a flasher-DMD setup by the author would just instantly work as intended. :)

I'm very curious though how Sliderpoint got flasher-DMD working or if it was just a textbox.

After deciding to wait for an update instead of messing with DMDs I started back on my Printed Pin Sim mini cab. Just finished the first stage of the Indy Gun pistol shooter, next to the regular push button shooter plate. Going to have to do more splitting to get the cab into chunks my printer can handle. The idea is to get it about the same size as some Saitek flight sim modules as Im going to use the same clamps I think.

med_gallery_134000_433_45716.jpg

Setting it up for just regular arcade buttons for now as I have plenty of those around from past projects.

What other games have unique shooters or gimmicky fun stuff like that? I'm planning on a T2, Guns N roses, Jurassic Park, Last Action Hero...

What other ones can you guys come up with?

Demolition Man has those two sticks, and a bunch of tables have the middle fire button like ACDC.

Fishtales has has a fishing Rod handle.
Star Trek the next generation has a gun handle
Lethal weapon three has a gun handle
Jurassic Park has some sort of gun plunger
Funhouse has two standard plungers (one on each side)
The getaway high speed has a gearshift plunger (that can both upshift and downshift)
Guns and roses has an old revolver plunger
The shadow has what looks like a 1911 gun plunger
Last action hero has a gun plunger
Terminator two judgment day has a gun plunger
Last action hero has a gun plunger
Terminator three has a gun plunger

Most of the other tables I can think of have a standard plunger or a launch button of some sort but Im sure I am missing some others!

In am a bit unhappy with some flicker on ramps (i.e. TSPP). Wasnt able to get rid of it on al tables by some material option changes.

Did anybody here try this tool?

Maybe sweetfx is another way we should try. If anybody knows anything about it, please let us know.

It was not in VR. I thought it was odd that it would know the difference between it and any other flasher object.

Hi guys,

despite of upgrading my remaining hardware I still get a black headset display once I start Vpin_GL. Does anyone here has a Radeon RX580 running fine?

Michael

Oh yess the Demo Man grips are a must, figuring out an easy way to bolt them on and off will be the trickiest part. I always forget the middle top launcher button, gotta add that..

YESS thank you, alot of these I didn't know about! For the most part these should be easy to find cool good models for them then chop them down.. The only one that's weird is the Jurassic park, at least the shapes are easy so I can do it form scratch.. like WHAT IS the Jurassic Park gun?? lol some sort of anti-dinosaur pressure washer? Was there a scene where they fought off a t-Rex while at a do it yourself car wash??? ;)

The tool is a must in my book, just for the chaperone control alone, but it does so much more. Great for not just pinball adjusting but for all of you VR uses.

@Karlor

The 10.5 Demolition Man (Knorr-Kiwi) 1.3 FF has the hand grips on the table already, I seen them in VR, but didn't see them in regular VP until I reduced the Y axis size.

Thanks for the heads up, I got the obj from the table but its so high poly that my editor is giving me grief lol but its a very nice model.

So far the Indy/Dirty Harry(but thinking of doing a .357 Magnum variant just for ol' Harry), GnR, LAH and STTNG launcher/shooters. They are fun to make but wont be "exactly" like the originals.. I think I'm ok with that...

really excited to try this again.  Is the latest version though still end of Jan b/c that might have been the one I tried.  I also see a user with a full room with multiple machines - I don't believe that has been released yet right?  Finally - I think there is no auto recenter yet via button press?

Also - this pinsim.  Would love to buy a premade one if someone has one to sell?  PM me if you have one to sell as I want to buy

VR pinball is amazing.  Will jump back in and try some more!

@mfuegemann

I'm using a GTX1070ti but I have a couple spare RX580 cards that came with the VR PC deal. I'll try installing one and see if VPVR runs on it. Hope It dosn't mess up what I got now... Have to make an current image backup first. Will get back to you in a couple days. Caligula said he hacn't tried VPVR on a Radeon card yet..

I downloaded and installed the OpenVR Advanced Settings add-on. It's a shame development stopped on it 2 years ago.

But It's nice to be able to select fine tuned settings for the Shaprone as well as the supersampling and related things into profiles., that you can quickly activate from inside the VR environment.

There is still allot of other settings I have to read up on, so I can play with it some more..

If they were still developing it I would request that you could modify a profile setting without deleting and recreating it every you want to try a different setting..
