No. This table is my table. If there is mod with pup-pack then you will need to use the mod if you want a pup-pack.

I've searched for a good long while today, and I'm still not sure how to make this work.

When I load into the table, there's no DMD at all. Looking in the scripts I tried forcing FlexDMD to True to make sure it starts. Now when I start the table I see the DMD window appear, but VPX is hanging on "Starting Game Scripts".

What am I doing wrong here?

All my original tables uses the same FlexDMD code, so test first if any other table works, like Mago  de Oz, Serious Sam, Friday the 13th,,,

If they don't work then your FlexDMD is not installed right and you need to reinstall it.

I tried messing around this afternoon with Mago de Oz, Pokemon and Serious Sam 1. For all 3, the following happened :

1. I launch it, it starts fine but no DMD.

2. I quit to editor and edit the script so that UseFlexDMD = True no matter the Full Screen situation

3. I launch it again, it works fine.

4. I save & quit.

5. I launch it once more, it freezes while "starting game scripts" and never works again. I can set the variable back to False and it works as it did in step 1. For Mago de Oz, it was a bit different, it doesn't work either, but instead of freezing it says index out of range at line 2075.

If I could just know where it freezes in the script I could pinpoint the problematic line, but I don't know how to debug this thing.

I don't know what it saves where that makes it work just the once... I'm confused

After a bit of searching with the "index out of range" thing, this post on VPUniverse might be related : https://vpuniverse.c...ge-vpx-problem/

I'll probably leave this hanging until the new year cause I swear I'm not going to obsess over this all holiday long XD. I'll just play other tables!

Either way, thanks and merry holidays!

Update your FLexDMD to the build that Vbousquet made for 10.8 specifically

This build should do

Fix crash when loading image from VPX files · vbousquet/flexdmd@e9307fd (github.com)

He does not have a public release of it yet

I am betting you are running a 10.8 beta?

JP - sorry if this is stupid, but the only file in the download is the table, I don't see a manual anywhere. Does that exist anywhere I could find? Thanks!

I use to put the manual in the same ZIP file as the table, but I guess I forgot to add it in this latest revision :) But now I have upload it as a separate upload :)

Hi JP,

as soon as I get a high score, I hear the knocker sound and the game crashes with this message:

ucjhSHl.png

B3dg9o8.png

Do you have any idea what the reason could be?

I've played the table for a few versions now - any old high score files I should delete that may be messing with the current table?

UPDATE: I deleted all the values for "PokemonPinball" using VPSaveEdit, and the error persists. It's not there in version 5.5. Other updated JP tables (like Gargamel Park) work fine.

Just re-download the table, it is already fixed :)

Thank you very much, it works beautifully now!

One thing I noticed though, when I play with more than one player:

Let's say I get a high score and want to enter ABC - it shows the first and second letter correctly, but as soon as select the final letter and press start to enter it, it disappears, leaving the display as "AB " while the game is getting ready for the next player to play their final ball.

High score entry for the final player works as it should, with all three letters displayed when the final letter is entered.

I'm guessing it skips one "refresh the DMD" subroutine somewhere along the way to getting things prepped for the next player.

It's purely a cosmetic issue though - once the scores are displayed during the attract animation, the letters are all there.

I can take a look at the script, but those timings aren't easy to fix :) I use the same script on all the tables, and it has been working fine for a 1 player, I must admit that I haven't tested it much with 2 or more players.

I confess I actually haven't tried it on your other tables yet... but no problem - like I said, as long as the names are saved correctly, it's all good  :)

By the way, it seems to be a general case of the DMD not being updated before the next player shoots their ball.

Let's say I play with two players and five balls, and I just drained ball three as player 2. The DMD will say "P2 B3" even when the next ball for player 1 is already ready to be launched. Only after I press Enter will the display change to "P1 B4".

Again, these are minor glitches - I just mention them to narrow things down, should you ever want to take a look at the cause. :)

I'll check the code, mostly for future tables :) I guess it is simply a missing update. I used to have a few Addscore 0 in different places just to force an update to the score, but then I made a DMDScoreNow, and I see I have it in the Sub swPlungerRest_UnHit() but maybe I should update the DMD also when changing players? I'll check it out :)

Edit: It is an easy fix, just Add DMDScoreNow in the  Sub swPlungerRest_Hit()  I guess I added that to the _UnHit by mistake :D

Add DMDScoreNow in the  Sub swPlungerRest_Hit()

That did it - and incidentally solved the highscore display problem as well: When the DMD switches to the next player immediately after you enter the last letter, you hardly notice it's not being displayed for the fraction of a second before the view changes :)

Thank you!
