What is the issue you are having?  The DirectB2S/B2S.exe missing print is just an FYI in the log

Post a link to your log file or at least paste the enough of the log with all the startup info and it trying to process a few tables

Thanks for the log.  I see two things in the log
1)  The log says Drag and Drop mode is enabled.  Are you double clicking the exe or are you dragging a VP table onto the exe? You should just double click the PBXRecorder exe to start the program if you are trying to record all tables.
2)  Your tables are stored in individual folders.  PBXrecorder does not really support this well.  This is the reason for the "FYI:  No DrectB2S/B2S.exe print in the logfile.  PBXR only checks the table directory and not the subfolders

If you rename the table folder to match the vpt filename, then PBXR should work.  That is the only sub-folder it checks  i.e change
C:\Program Files (x86)\Visual Pinball\Tables\Baywatch\Baywatch (Sega 1995).vpt
to
C:\Program Files (x86)\Visual Pinball\Tables\Baywatch (Sega 1995)\Baywatch (Sega 1995).vpt

I will work on an update to PBXR to search all table subfolders, but can't say when it will be available.  It looks like you and HF like this table subfolder approach :)

After upgrading to 1.5, VPX doesn't close after I drag a new table onto the exe.  It creates the media files fine, but leaves the table open.  any ideas?

Do you happen to change to a VPX exe filename with spaces or extra dots in it?

taskkill has issues closing VP if the VP exe filename has spaces in it.  I probably just need to put quotes around the executable name to fix this :)

I've never drag and dropped. Always double click the exe.

OK. Tried again with Ghostbusters in the tables root folder. Still didn't record backglass.  Here is the log for the Ghostbusters run.

The backglass recording is attempted but it appears to fail.  This can happen if ffmpeg does not like the recording window size or location.

Based on log it looks like you have a playfield monitor set to 1280x720 and backglass monitor set to 1920x1080.  I tried this out on my cab, and the recording works if you have the monitors aligned along the top edge like this:

2.png

But the recording fails, if you have the monitors aligned at the bottom.  Please check this and have the monitors aligned across the top

Here is a version of PBXrecorder.exe that should handle VP executables with spaces in it.  Let me know if this was your issue.

Attached File  PBXrecorder_1.5.1.zip   414.33KB   12 downloads

I will include this fix in future releases

That's what it was now recording all three screens. One last issue, I have my DMD on a reused laptop monitor but I'm only using the very center of the screen as viewable for the DMD. When I record now, left to right looks correct but the video plays at the top of the screen and I need it to be centered top to bottom, or there abouts.

Thanks for you help. Awesome program!

If the recorded video is not capturing the correct area then you need to adjust the screenres.txt file.  You can run the ScreenResCheck.exe or modify it manually

If PinballX is not playing the dmd video in the correct location, then use the Pinballx Settings and adjust the DMD x and y offset

If the recorded video is not capturing the correct area then you need to adjust the screenres.txt file.  You can run the ScreenResCheck.exe or modify it manually

If PinballX is not playing the dmd video in the correct location, then use the Pinballx Settings and adjust the DMD x and y offset

I could certainly do either of those but Pinballx is playing other DMD videos in the proper location. It's something about the area recorded. I've run screenrescheck many times and never matches what I need to make Pinballx and VP play everything in the right location. I'll tinker with it a bit. Just thought you might had seen this before. Thanks so much for all you help and this great tool.

currently i'm still doing videos with camtasia and adding the games in the xml db by hand, i was scared to give too many requirements, but i decided to give a try to this great tool

so i have 4 vp systems, it recognized only 2, i have to see in details why my vpx and pm5 system are not recognized, maybe something wrong on my side

except that, i have a requirement that make sense, at least to me :) , i have images for non animated tables or backglass, and then no videos for these tables, but i check videos in the options of pbx recorder, and it will try to record the missing videos, i have plenty of them like that, could we add an option to skip the record if the image is available?

and for the xml add feature, i fill for each entry the rom section, it would be cool to add a rom section there, i would love it :)

thanks for the great tool, still discovering parts of it :)

Hey arngrim

Make sure VPx and pm5 are tagged as system type = Vp in Pinballx settings

Should be able to check if either image or video exists and skip.

If ipdb list provides rom info I can look into that :)

yeah that was it, they were not stamped as vp system :)

omg, this is such a time saver! i discover and use the drag and drop, and this is the option i need, works perfect like that, thank you joe and carny!

for the rom, they are there but a lot miss and name don't match, so yeah, no worries, i think i'm used to change the xml by hand, it doesn't take more time than from the tool, we can forget about

but it told me i have 168 tables not in pinballx lol, will check one by one why and delete the table or add it to the xml's :)

I just wanted to add my appreciation for developing this tool!  It is a huge timesaver for whenever I want to add some new tables to my setup.  After loading a new table file and db2s file to my tables folder in Visual Pinball, I then update the XML file to include the new table file name.  Then, I simply download a few media files (basically the instruction cards, wheel image, and table audio) over at Gamex's FTP site and run the PBX Recorder application which does the rest!  Totally awesome. Thanks again for this great tool.

Just want to add my thanks for this great tool.  It has been a lifesaver as I have been rebuilding a new cabinet and not needing to worry about capturing screenshots has been a great timesaver.

As I have been rebuilding, I tried something and while it works in Pinballx, the recorder doesn't seem to handle it.   I'm wondering whether it might be considered to make an update in the future.

In my table folder, I have a folder for a new table.   In that folder, I can drop the table in.   The game manager just has the folder in the games selection and it  seems to run whatever VPT/VPX is found in the folder.   PBXMediaRecorder, after looking in the AHK file want a specific table name.  Can it be generic?

For instance I have the following:

Tables_VP10

   Funhouse

      Funhouse_1.1.vpx

In GameManager and the XML it just calls out "Funhouse" as the game name.  Pinballx seems to launch the table as expected.

By doing it this way, I think updating a table will be easier by just updating the folder and the XML game list doesn't need to change.

Thanks for considering it.  I was going to try to change the AHK file myself, but I have'nt installed the AHK compiler yet.

Alan

P.S.   Sorry if this has been asked before.   I didn't see it, but I may have missed it

I posted a beta version that should work with your Funhouse example in the main PBXR support thread here:  http://www.vpforums....=34492&p=367488
