The designer's manual is making some good progress. I'm still confident we can start the beta testing at the weekend. I will announce it in a new thread and I'm still looking forward to it.

To sweeten the time of waiting here is a new backglass for 'PIN-BOT': Done for boogies2 as a 'thanksgiving present' since he uploaded some great cab building videos at youtube. Some of these videos inspired and helped me a lot during my cab building. Now for you too, have some fun: http://www.mediafire...1rcsrcmjula5csz

Best regards, Herweh.

Just a FYI: I have added a new feature at the B2S server. I haven't released it to public but I wanted to tell you a bit about:
Till now the B2S server is running as one component. Rosve's B2S backglasses however were running as an independant EXE file. I brought these together. You're able to switch a checkbox at the settings to force the backglass running as an EXE. This solved some performance problems at the cab of my good friend 'thewool'.

Awesome Herweh! You keep serendipitously picking backglasses as far as tables that I’ve been involved with or just really want ;) I was just recently hoping that the next one would be PIN-BOT and sure enough it is (I should go buy a lottery ticket tonight)!. I have approval from UW to upload a PIN-BOT vp91x BMPR edition and will be doing so in the next few weeks. I was going to have to add a custom UVP I'd streamlined some lights out of (with drawn lit areas in PS) to help with previous stutter - now I can use yours!

One thing though Herweh, can you make another version of these Williams tables B2S or modify them so that actually have the speaker grill in the backglass like we used to get for the 2 screen UVP / 2 screen cab users? That fills the 2nd monitor more like the real backglass for 2 screen set-ups and it was my understanding previously that the B2S screens done with a grill could be used by all users as the grill could be stretched off the screen for those that did not want it (Sorcerer and now PIN-BOT or both examples of this where they’re missing the grill and would be nice to have the same as the previous 2 screen set-up). But if it’s not in the graphic / B2S to start with, us 2 screen users do not have an option to display. Or maybe you could provide the source project / files when you complete and release the editor so we can adjust and create a 2 screen version for ourselves. I’m assuming your familiar with the differences of the 3 screen and 2 screen where the grills are present as far as the UVP world goes.

Attached File  PIN-BOT BG (Speaker Grill).PNG   497.74KB   74 downloads

And also that’s wicked for the option of a separate .exe as that can help with customization, performance, and other aspects available within the OS now because of it’s autonomous option – nice one!

Aaaah, Jimmy, I understand. I realized I missed the grill at ELVIS but I didn't even noticed the grill at these pins. Thanks a lot for this info, of course all the new backglasses should match for a 2- or 3-screen cab. I have to pay a bit more 'grill attention'.

No worries and as usual this backglass looks just beautiful and rich in colours and realism. It seems to give me a few more FPS compared to even my streamlined / custom UVP as well which is great but I'll have to test / compare a little more. Thanks again for everything you're doing on this! It's a really welcomed edition an a hugely anticipated release for the editor so that everyone can start making some B2S backglasses. I can't wait to get my first chance to make one and assess the ability to use for some EM tables.

I just found that all this time, i had my backglass resolution at 16bit, not 32...OMG!!!!
Now, it works pretty damn good.
Thanks for this wonderful program! :)

Herweh, is your tool just for lighting/LEDs, or will interactive features like the Scared Stiff spider be possible with it?

I got the same (as mentioned earlier) .. start up a Table for the first time: it crashes .. start it up for the 2nd time: it starts up correctly.
Same behaviour with or without HyperPin.

I'm using 9.14 on Win7 64-bit (UK).

Strange thing is .. Pinbot B2S seems to be running fine!

Cheers,
FD.

Thanks you all for these kind words.

Herweh, is your tool just for lighting/LEDs, or will interactive features like the Scared Stiff spider be possible with it?

Hello Aurich,

right now it is and the beta will be lighting/LEDs like you have seen in my previews. During these beta testing I will improve the designer and the server to handle the turning wheel of 'Hurricane' (I'm really anxious to do this backglass). This will be the first step to a 'turning Scared Stiff spider'. And then we will see how the communication between backglass and table is done (like in Scared Stiff or Terminator 3).

On the other hand the limitation above applies only the new B2S.Server backglasses. The designer is able to generate these new 'directB2S' backglasses (controlled by the pin ROM) or 'Rosve style' backglass EXEs (Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 code). So when you're able to do some VB.NET coding you're free to do and create whatever you want already now.

Best regards, Herweh.

Sounds great, about what I expected. One of these days I will figure out how to fix up that spider ... :P

Curious, what's wrong with the current B2S of Scared Stiff with moving spider wheel? It works fine here on my cab.

I wouldn't be concerned with adding such abilities for one or two tables unless that is your goal to make a full featured tool.
I'm sure it would be quite a bit of work. There are still hundreds of backglasses that just need displays/lighting that could benefit greatly from the backglass designer.

Just tried the Taxi and the Pinbot B2S. Fantastic! :love39:

Cant wait to try the editor. I think, that thanks to this editor und the B2S.Server we will see loads of B2S backglasses in a short time.

Programming is a race between software engineers striving to build  idiot-proof programs, and the universe trying to produce bigger idiots. So far, the universe is winning.

It functions fine. The spider is graphically weak and could use a refresh. Aside from the resolution and quality needing an improvement, it's got the white circle around the inside of the legs that shouldn't be there.

I've already volunteered to do the graphics, not just whining for someone else to do it, but I can't edit the code on the EXE, so that doesn't mean much.

Hey Dutch,
I had a same issue and when I took a second look I forgot to quote out the> Set Controller = CreateObject("UltraVP.BackglassServ") and just added a new line with> Set Controller = CreateObject("B2S.Server")
Maybe?

Which B2S backglass? There is one that was for the GI8 version of the table and that one doesn't have the white circle, and it works just fine. The spider itself looks also OK to me...

Where is that? I see the GI8 mod, but that's the table, only B2S I see is here: http://www.vpforums....s&showfile=6138

And that's the one with the blurry spider with white circle. Be happy to know I was missing something, but I don't see it. I guess I should check the GI8 version with it to be safe, but I thought all the assets were in the B2S EXE.

Edit: Just checked, I'm already running the GI8 B2S table, and mine at least has the white circle. Maybe it's the other one that doesn't? Gonna try to check.
