Forgive me if this has been discussed before, or if this is already being worked on, but is there any way that ball shadows could be built into the engine, rather than having to code them for each table?
That would probably be terribly limiting
and also probably would save little time since most probably just copy and paste the ball shadows and the code
from one of their tool tables
There are so many different ways that people are doing shadows now.. Primitives, flashers, Z.height coding or no Z.Height coding, turning them off on ramps, changing how much they move side to side with the table width etc.. Then this is usually, but not always tied into a ball rolling script of some sort. Not to mention, there are many VPX tables out there with no ball shadows at all. I think it would be nice to have a standard shadow built directly into the engine, that acts like a shadow should, similar to ball reflection on the table (with maybe a few properties to set). It's only a suggestion, and I wasn't sure if it had been brought up or discussed before.
