Did a quick Test, and get no Videos, installed VLC 32bit, PuP Test ok, latest VPX Beta, Video manualy Play, all in /Table Folder (Folder PuPVideos and the PuP Files), registered as Admin, …
but get nothing in Game … of Course, Table work with directb2s and ROM

One PuP Window also start with the Table ...

Edit: i had Win Updates before, did a restart, and all ok now :tup: :)

Kudos to all the hard work you guys put into this. I got this to work properly and it is very cool. I can see tons of uses for this. The drawback is I loose balls sometimes when trying to watch the videos :) maybe in the future there would be video clips when the ball is stationary, such as when a ball gets locked for multi ball before a ball is released. This allows the player to enjoy the videos even more.

I would be happy to help in some way....although I am not a huge coder.

So, what version are we up to now ?

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

Greetings....  xkane47 and I have completed an Avatar PinUP Player Video Pack!   (no table script mod so will work with your existing avatar vpx)

This Avatar Mod uses a new feature of PinUP Player where we trigger videos based on what is being displayed by the DMD in realtime (key-frame matching).

This new version of PinUP hasn't been released yet, and I'd like to get a few 'brave-souls' that would like to try the new Avatar PuP and PinUP Player software on their system.

If you have dmdext(freezy dlls) already working on your cab then it just running a simple installer to get up to the latest version.  works with real or virtual dmds.

PM if you'd like to try out the new stuff....        Thanks for all the new beta testers.... look for release soon!

thanks

New beta is awesome, Nailbusters installer makes installation a snap, Installed a fresh version, configured, and was launching a table in less than 5 mins.

The avatar table is beyond cool, however say goodbye to highscores as playing this table is like watching a movie, you will not pay attention to the ball at all.

The new installer places everything where it needs to be, so make sure you either remove your current instance of PUP before using this installer (when released) or you could have duplicate installations.

I have a real dmd, and did not encounter any crashing etc.  Booted just fine Win 10 64bit, PBX, DOFLINX 6.01, DMDEXT 1.6

This also goes for having dmdext and any dmddevice.dll files in different or duplicate locations other than VPinMAME.   Today, there isn't any reason to have those files in locations like syswow64,etc (that used to be the case).  Having a normal setup of dmdext in VPinMAME (and 32 bit vlc) is really the only thing you need before installing the new PuP via installer.

I was not liking the idea of an installer either, but there were no issues here. Working great.

Keep an eye out for new updates of PuP over at VPinball.

Make sure you are using/the rom is set for English language, and that if a folder named afm_113b exists in pup videos, it is replaced with the one downloaded.

Set it to/make sure the DMD is in English and see if it works.

mrkai's words in german..

With my modest English I can say that I have not made it to the table of Attack to Mars that the videos are played

I hope work continues with this great project.  I have my backglass mostly done for now and it now has 2 1080 screen in it.  I have the bottom small screen as my topper and DMD (I also place the VPinMAME DMD display on the lower half of the lower screen.  This seems to work really well with Tron and other PUP paks.  I had to change around avatar a little changing screen 7 to 0 as that is where I want the videos to play (maybe when overlay works I will move to backglass).  this stuff is sooooo great, but I'm having some trouble.  I have installed also on a laptop for testing and i can crash it frequently.  I also find it hard to modifly the screen sizes and locations.  Can a edit screen be part of the editor?  Any logging that I can turn on to track down the troubles?  thanks

Anyway to get the pupplayer always on top? I'm trying to figure out a smart way to get this to work on a single display portrait desktop setup so that pupplayer is always on top of the VPX window.

Using 3rd party tool doesn't work since it's several layers. :(

not much can be done as PuPlayer itself has multiple layers and sends this to front/back during playback.  VPX desktop gets in the way sometimes.

if you're not running fs exclusive perhaps have the 3rd party util send the "visual pinball player" to back-most after a few seconds after b2s/pup is started?

Ah that's a shame, then I guess the best way would be to run vpx in a window with a custom resolution and try to fit the windows side by side so to speak.

I ended up going windowed with VPX and using autohotkey to remove titlebar, borders and setting position/size.

The following adopted for 1440x3440 portrait with PUP window being 1000px high, ctrl+alt+arrowup sets it all up, ctrl+alt+arrowdown re-enables the window title if you need it.

^!Up::
WinSet, Style, -0xC00000, Visual Pinball Player
WinSet, Style, -0x800000, Visual Pinball Player
WinSet, Style, -0x400000, Visual Pinball Player
WinSet, Style, -0x40000, Visual Pinball Player
WinMove,Visual Pinball Player,,-5,1000,1450,2440
return

^!Down::
WinSet, Style, +0xC00000, Visual Pinball Player
return

The end result is as good as it gets on portrait desktop I think.

Hi, I have a question about the script, how can I leave a loop video as a background in backglass. I have managed to show me videos, but not leave one as a background, if you could guide me I would appreciate it, I am very new in this.

Here's the basest of the code to do so. In this case, it sets a couple of layers, it loads a movie, then it loads a frame on top of that movie, and sets the result to the background.

    PuPlayer.playlistadd pBackglass,"backglass",1,0
    PuPlayer.playlistadd pBackglass,"PuPOverlays",1,0

'    Set some background videos and overlays
    PuPlayer.playlistplayex pBackglass,"Backglass","backglass.mp4",0,1
    PuPlayer.playlistplayex pBackglass,"PuPOverlays","overlay.png",0,1
    PuPlayer.SetBackground pBackglass,1
