I've only just added this table to VPX after seeing this thread, but Gorgar VP9 (along with Firepower VP9) are the tables largely responsible for me committing to build my vPin. I was blown away by the sound and visuals and just had to take it further than the "couple of monitors on the dining room table" that I had going on at the time.

I don't remember my best ever score, but I struggled to crack the 300,000 with this VPX version just then. (286k was my best)

A wrd1972 update on this table would have me doing that whole 'screaming like a little girl' thing again. (Do 'Fish Tales' as well and you better have the defib on hand.... "CLEAR"!! .... ZAP!!!)

Next of Kin was on tv last night. Liam Neeson used a shotgun to destroy the backglass of Gorgar.
I am really enjoying the game of the week challenges. Spending hours on a table is exciting and frustrating. I love the idea of learning the tables by simply playing the hell out of them.
I played Gorgar as a kid and never appreciated it as I do now. I have spent at least an hour every night only to break 500,000 pts one time.
With that I want to thank everyone for their contributions. I have been a member for over a year and a half. Although I rarely post anything, I look through the forums every day, and several times a day.
Thank you all for being a part of my daily routine.

Highest is around 325,000 for me.  I reduced the leftsling and rightsling force from 8 to 6. The ball was hitting the shooter lane gate bracket, so I set that primitive to uncollidable.  Here is the latest version:

I'm late to the party but I did a mod of the physics as well.  I don't claim it to be better than anything just different.

Just did a 341k (rounded up) ;)

To be honest, I am really liking this table and having to actually work hard to get a score.  It's nice to play a simple table without target scores of 53563,27363,8383,000BAZILLION just to get a free game.   It's "old school" with sensible scores from an era when simply "clocking" a rolling counter, or surpassing a million on a digital counter was quite an achievement. ;)

377300 on gtxjoe' recently shared mod. Second time in relative short time I've found very nice adjustments from Joe.

Would still be playing if it wasn't for my feet hurt so much from standing playing yesterday. Need to buy me a pinball bar stool :-)

It's official.... I hate Gorgar! This has been the first table that made me hit my pincab and say a lot of bad words...

369710 is the max and final score for today before I demolish my precious...

Looks like tcboogiedown found the secret to winning challenges ;)

This week's table pick is yours.

Here is some background on Gorgar
"Gorgar was the first 'talking' pinball machine. With a vocabulary of seven words (Gorgar, Speaks, Beat, You, Me, Hurt, Got) The words could be combined together for different phrases, such as "Gorgar speaks" and "Me got you." The pinball machine also has a heart beat sound effect that increases in speed during longer game play"

What is wrong with the table.

The ball is to fast, like a cannonball.

The slingshots are to strong.
