Just for the record, I didn't put any quarters in that machine...spent it all on Ghostbusters.

Don't worry. Nobody was putting any quarters in. Why would you when you have the real machines in the same building.

It's not like this is the only site to download tables. This debate has been rolling on for years and dare say will keep rearing up.Just respect the house rules, is what I say.  It would be nice to see some now out of production tables here. Hint, Hint.

What was this thread originally about anyway. I thought it was about analogys.

We need to find a new topic to have a flame war over. After all these years this topic is getting old

So Williams is fine with free VP cabinet versions of their tables but want an insane licensing fee for (inferior) cabinet versions from Farsight? That doesn't really make sense. Good thing I haven't released NGG, wouldn't want to cause trouble. :)

And why wouldn't Farsight just hold one of their virtual begging sessions to meet the cost? That's been what they've done in the past to get licenses for tables why wouldn't they do it for cabinet versions of the licenses?

Since that didn't happen how long did they string along people with the promise of cabinet versions after they knew they couldn't afford it?

Well I'll tell ya the things that don't matter: the got dang box the illegal crap comes in, but at least someone's defending it!!! lol

Mameman, the whole thing is ugly outside and in, that's my opinion. Here's something that's not an opinion: it is illegal to sell those tables, it is illegal to accept money for their use on location, charity or not. Guilt by association, maybe you should distance yourself from that nonsense.

Haha, only a matter of time before so
Some one turned another thread into a bash thread on Vpcabs.

My only involvement is cnc design time on the physical cabinets to take my mind of the stressful office day job. Frankly I think they look good but of course I have a tainted view but then that also means JJP does as well from the discussion I had with him. I doubt if someone else designed it and it showed up on someone's build thread on here or anywhere else anyone would be jumping on it saying its looked hideous.

At least I am making an attempt to push cab design forward and build
Something around the hardware rather than trying to find hardware to fit and having to compromise. Also i was bored of everyone using someone else's design from 20 plus years ago ;)

VPCabs deserves every negative thing ever said about them. The cabinet is ugly because of what it contains. Don't defend that and you have nothing to worry about. That cabinet on a home built machine? Fine. No problems. That cabinet on a machine that's ripping off the community that created it? Disgusting. That cabinet with a coin door in it that accepts money for games that are given away for free and were never intended to be sold? Deplorable.

Unforgivable.

like you said everyone can have there own opinion...   and not that my opinion would mean anymore then someone else's, because it doesn't....
but i was a graphic designer at a sign shop for over 20yrs and I have my on CNC router... so i guess thats bit more of an insight thing

I guess my beef in the design its just an arcade cab slapped onto and pin cab box...  again just opinion

Fren I think you're giving them to much credit with the coin door... the dude that owns or owned the TPM in vegas is a VERY smart dude... so I would say he did the conversion to coins...

the rest of the bunch, not so much....
