Also note that this breaks the necessary tweak for 'correct' stereo 3D rendering of flashers, etc, so all stereo 3D users please stick with the version before that (for now)..

579 should fix this now and reenables the stereo 3D tweak.. but please test if it has other unwanted side-effects (please look out for quirks with the ball(s) rendering)..

EDIT:

sorry.. 580 should fix the issues.. d'oh!

Cool, and thanks also for using the new ramp flag, btw, as this really avoids that 3D stereo users need to tweak all flashers manually themselves!

I've got a problem with a WIP table and version577.  The table uses ramps with image swapping for the GI.  It looks great in 9.15 but in build 577 you can see the individual ramp edges.  They appear to be a different shade.  The first image is 577 and the second is 9.15.  It's easy to see the problem near the middle of the table.

Thanks

Just tried version 581.

The white and red square around the ball is gone.

My other problem, sometimes seeing a white piece of playfield at the left top white flasher is still there.

It happens when the ball is in the paint.

I use W7 64 bit, VP 581, nvidia 306.23, 8 GB ram

see picture (the ball is in the red  circle):

Nice, using 581 no more square around the ball with flasher lights :otvclap:

but now, the ball disapears completely when it goes a little fast...

(ATI drivers)

I hope it helps

Yes, the rev581 works perfectly :) Thanks!

About the ball disappearing: it does with me too if I have the "Region Updates" on (the fps also drops a lot with the region updates on, but that's with my Nvidia GTX 680, with the other computer with an Ati 5xxx it works better with the region updates on)

Toxie.First of all, thanks for all the upcoming news for VP.I've tested the new Lightsources box, and is very outstanding. There's any chance to make it scriptable, so we can manage a better GI.?¿Also, it's possible to add more points of light?¿?Here's a few screen:The first shot is only one light L0, and the second are both L0 and L1.It's possible to add more lights?¿'

Not to hijack the thread, lord hiryu can't accept private messages. Lord, I'd like to make a night mod of your cactus canyon. Would you allow me to mod this table?I'd like to really darken the playfield and make the lights "pop"I will also ask all the others involved as well. Thanks for the consideration, Aaron

I sure hope you see this. Lol.

Thanks JP

I've disabled "region update" and now all is working very fine with r581 :otvclap:

PS: JP, is there any hope to get a little STTNG update? With the last VP versions, "probes" have some problems: travel stops are not working very fine and they have some transparency issues... Sorry to ask but this is a very great table (my favorite)... Thanks again

There is always a "little update" needs. JP needs rest he not updating now nothing. I know you dont want to be unrespectful but pls let him rest. (that transparency issue with gun always existed btw...becouse it made with dropwalls. its not a large problem in my opinion i personally could always live with that).

Peace  ;)

Yes I can confirm it does the job perfectly in my case.

Yes, if I turn off the region updates then it works better with a nice frame rate. I turn them on and the ball is drawn with a very bad tearing. I have had that problem before, and I reinstall the nvidia driver and it works fine maybe a few minutes and suddenly while playing it is very very slow. I start to believe that it has nothing to do with VP but with the drivers. Before the beta 314.21 used to work very well, but suddenly it was very slow and I have been updating the drivers, but they all work the same. I think I'll start downloading older Nvidia drivers until I find one that works more than a few minutes :)

About STTNG: I won't update it just now, maybe later. but the table needs more than new cannons done with primitives, but it also needs new flashers, physics settings, and the under passages better configured (the ball will be missing sometimes), so why don't you make the changes? :) Everybody has its own favorite table, so if "everybody" updates one table, then all the tables will get updated :)

@JP: okay, could repro it with my laptop nvidia gfx now.. oh man, VP can do some things in a really horribly complicated way.. :(

currently if the ball moves 'too fast' (i.e. PC is too slow) it will tear as a result..

This table (Lost World) has some strange graphic bugs in rev.581 compared with release 9.1.5:
