ok i'll figure out this damn ipac problem later. to mount the monitors the 27" was easy 4 L brackets will secure it to the backbox...however the 17" is a little more tricky since there's no proper brackets to secure it to the bottom of the bb i've decided to instead secure it to the back of the bb using 4 C brackets.

got it...is the trim just supposed to sit inside the side rails? mine doesn't seem to be very secure in them.

There are screw holes in the plastic. Screw it to the wood.

Uhm, there are holes in yours, if the photo you posted is of your piece. There's 6 holes across the bottom of the piece:

I'd put a piece of wood across the back of the DMD monitor, toward the bottom of the backbox and screw into those two mounting points on the display. You'll likely need to get screws that are just the right length and size to fit into those holes on the monitor to avoid screwing up the mounting points or going into the display too far, but it should work. Just make sure the block of wood isn't so thick that it gets in the way of the speakers.

If you want the mounting to be extra secure, I'd make the block of wood larger in the middle, so it could reach all 4 of the mounting points on the display, but still be out of the way of the speakers.

How you mount the block of wood to the sides of the backbox is up to you, but the "L" brackets seem to work for you, so maybe use a couple more of those angled to curve up toward the top of the backbox, rather than back toward the back of the backbox. Make sure there are two screws into the "L" bracket into the backbox side, so the bracket doesn't just pivot on a single screw and let your DMD monitor move around. I'd be inclined to drive a couple of screws in from the bottom of the backbox, too, which means my block of wood would rest on the bottom of the backbox.

It's a bit of work, some measuring, and a trip to the hardware store, but it'll get the job done. These things are custom, so this kind of stuff is to be expected for little things like this.

no i meant the other long ones that sit inside the side rails on the sides they just barely sit under the side rails that's how you put them in isn't it?

Thanks for the help ok doing it that way i'd need some wood 64mm height x 662mm width with 2 screws 76mm in length and 2 more L brackets. that will work but it's tricky to figure out where to drill the screw holes that go into the 2 mounting holes on the back of the display since i can't see through wood.

Did you slow down the transfer speed to minimum? Did you try using a PS2 cable?

Mine is PS/2 only, so I may not have run into so much trouble. I am seeing a lot of USB related problems with programming, though. PS/2 might be the fix. Worth a try, Blades.

Change it back to the usbport you tried first, and it won't work again tongue.gif

Weird stuff happens sometimes, blade

had a motor board go down in a San Francisco Rush after I installed the new power supplies.
Tested it, no voltages. Ready to fix the darn thing or get a new one. Switched it on to run it the other day, and what do you know.
It works, steering feedback again.

Stupid electronicds, swear theyre out to get me.

monitor mounting is done!

i found some flexible metal brackets at bunnings that are easy to bend i used it and wrapped it around the back of the dmd monitor than locked it in place with 2 L brackets and it worked out beautifully! I cut up the other one and made 2 smaller brackets that i bended and attached to the other 2 screw holes and locked them into the piece of wood above that monitor ain't going anywhere!

now comes the part i've been dreading the whole build........bom bom boooooom WIRING!! shutup.gif
