Found this video and was blown away at the true genius of the design. Easy, comfortable and portable. VR pinball has been around longer then we may have thought! A shame it didn't get more press it could have saved the industry and avoided the die outs of arcade in general. Check it out:

Not VR, cause it is not virtual, it IS reality, if you remove the safety glass and the back stop behind the drain, your getting a blacked eye :)

i dont think i could play well like that though, i tried playing vpx with that kind of view, it did not go so well.

Sadly i dont think it would have saved the arcades, there isn't really much that could have really.

Too many other things too place that killed them, and many of those things had nothing to do with the arcades or the machines in them.

Kids used to walk several miles, just to go see their friends, that was just normal.
Now? not happening, they will just sit at home and text them

If you feel the need to empty your wallet in my direction, i don't have any way to receive it anyways

Spend it on Hookers and Blow

I think lately there is stagnation in vr pinball . Most popular tables are made to a large extent. I think the next step that needs to be done is to find a way to create the new modern tables from stern and jj, but I have little hope for the near future, unless the companies themselves decide to make vr versions of their tables

I have some new and exciting things in the works;)

wondering what this will be !

Barring some change of heart, it seems like the site is being shut down permanently.

Is there any discussion of this on Facebook? Does the community have any plans for where all that content is going to migrate to?

Most of the VR tables were already uploaded to vpuniverse by the authors.

Interesting. I'll have to check this out when the site gets back online. I actually have them bookmarked, but never saw very many VR tables there. Maybe I had the wrong thing bookmarked. I had the VR conversions category bookmarked.

When I last visit the site a few days ago, there were 45 VR-tables. But that's a short time after vpinball closed. So I think, when the site is online again, we see much more VR-tables.

Finally getting to tuning in my Min Cab. I'm using a VirtuaPin Plunger kit and I have it dialed in pretty nice to 1:1 so far on desktop but when I go in VR the plunger goes dead... A long while back at this point I did test it and it worked with the very first versions of VR so not sure, maybe I missed something..

It doesn't like disconnect or anything it just stops working.. the buttons work and what not, the plunger even reads when you push it IN.. it tracks that but when you pull it.. nothing.. probably just a setting I missed but I tried several of the obvious things and still nothing.. any ideas?

Tried it again today and I was wrong the plunger just goes dead in VR. I thought it was working when pushed forward but it doesn't it was a different button I had mapped and it was making it look like it was.. But in desktop it works again 1:1.. I tried setting things back to default still nothing, tried reversing axis, overriding default buttons..

Settings being used:settings.png

@Karlor

Does it work when you change from XInput to DirectInput or SDL?

So I solved some of my backglass and DMD woes today! Ive been trying and trying to get NON VR tables working and looking good.. easily..

I put together the few needed bits so people can do it themselves :D

Instructions and all needed is included. Its SUPER easy :) Worked on Aaron Spelling and Johny Mnemonic.

UPDATE: Successfully put it in some others like Al's Garage and NFL Seahawks. On some you may need only the backglass part and can place a freezy or regular DMD over the BG image on your main screen and just let the VR capture it.. lots of options now :)

OK after more shakedown the kit seems to work great! I used it on about a dozen tables sense figuring it out last night. If the instructions need to be more detailed just ask.. It's easy and quick, just a few clicks to get it put in and running. :).. a little longer to adjust if you want it perfect.. but still easy even for a noob :D after you get good at it less then 5 min per table..

A little tweaking of size and locations and you can get great results. Before, the VR capture would "squash" the BG on many non-VR tables.

With the kit it uses the added panel and displays the captured BG and DMD appear square or not squashed in the VR space. It also works for PuP packs from what i have tried..

A little B & A:

If you run into any questions just ask :)

I dont know if your familiar with flight simulators but some of the more complicated simulations come with a full suite of errors and faults that you can try to troubleshoot or run into while in flight.. Ive always thought it would be cool to see someone do something like that for VP :) Take it into the next level of simulation of pinball.. siting and trying to figure out what broke and how to fix it lol

Its usually just sort of  a menu and values representing different things like wear on parts that sort of thing but still fun for the more hardcore simmer if they get into a specific model of aircraft,, might be something fun for pin-ballers if done right  i dont know..
