As you can imagine ... I will pass out when the releases.

Todd: Just a FYI, I am going to read prior posts, I have this machine (and Getaway), I noticed that there were 2 helicopter plastics (upper left and lower right).... I don't have those on my machine. Were those your doing or where they part of the machine? If they were part of the machine, mine is missing it. sad.gif

From what I've read, the Helicopters were supposed to be installed by the Operator, but they may have not been installed on every machine. I know the location of the lower right Helicopter from memory and photos on the web confirmed it. The copter on the top left is a guess from me because I have a very vague recollection of it being there on the High Speed that I played in the Uxbridge bowling alley arcade. That is the ONLY High Speed I played extensively, and I played it from the fall of 1986 through High School, through to late 1988 or 1989 possibly. I can't find any web photos to back me up though. If someone can confirm the second copter location with a photo or has the machine they can photograph, I'll gladly update my VP9 table appropriately! biggrin.gif

Best Regards,
Todd.

p.s. check out CPR Classic Playfields for a High Speed plastics set and/or repro playfields...

This table looks really amazing !!

Can't remember if I ever played , I remember the HSII , the one with a "turbo" or something where the ball used to spin.

Didn't even know its first part.

Great JOb man !!!!!!!

Please correct my English if it is necessary.

Any funny words or sentences you can teach me are welcome too !!!

This way I'll learn about pinball but English as well.

Thanks Unclewilly for doing that script majik that you do!! The fading light system is working perfectly, the ball collision engine works great too! Now I just have to go back and fix up the fading light images. The variance in the light lenses is due to the way I created them in Adobe Illustrator. If I had made them solely in Photoshop, the lenses would have all been the same size. I think I'm going to have to go back into Illustrator and make an image of just the text labels that go on the light lenses and then re-do all the lights in photoshop instead of using Illustrator. This way I can create the 4 levels of lights and have the lettering as the top most layer in Photoshop so that the light trickery doesn't affect the text labels.

So, onto my "to-do" list so that I remember what is left to do before release:
-finish placing screw heads (plastic screw nuts already placed)
-add the Williams logo to the tops of the flippers
-add Noah's nudging system
-add a plunger anim (I haven't decided which method I'll use yet.)
-add PBW/Nanotech Motion adapter support.
-modify the sounds for bumpers and flippers from the default ones
-fix the light lenses on the table fading light images
[I'm sure I'm forgetting some unfinished stuff too.]

I tested the Fullscreen cabinet version with and without a UVP backglass using VP908 and here is the result:
-without UVP backglass, zero ball stutter! biggrin.gif This should mean amazing gameplay for the 4x3 Desktop gamers
-with a UVP backglass, there is a slight performance hit and there will be a tiny amount of ball stutter, and I'm using a PCI SoundBlaster Audigy so I've concluded it's the UVP backglass that is somehow causing the ball to stutter.

Best Regards,
Todd.

You know. I have same issue with UVP it also makes things slightly stutter. The version of UVP before the lastest one that adds Spiderman support is supposed to run better although I never tested it. They mad a bunch of changes to the code on the last update and something got screwy. I hope UVP gets intergrated into VP someday and it runs cleaner. Having Hyperpin, UVP, Vpinmame , and VP all running at the same time on two to three screens is asking for trouble.

hay todd, if you can't figure out how to add the match and other backglass lights to the backdrop let me know and i'll tell you how to add them to the fading light system. I find they are easiest to do with reels

Thanks Scott! First I want to tackle making the numeric displays the same way TAB did it in LaRetata... yeah, I know it's A LOT of work to do it that way and if I get stuck, I'll definitely take you up on that offer! wink.gif

Getting pretty close to version 1.0 now. Just a few more days and hopefully I'll be able to upload by the weekend.

p.s. - I'm hoping I didn't just jinx the release date by stating a release date...

Making some quick progress there Todd, didn't think you would get all those items scratched off this week so fast. Can't wait to play this table as I never got a chance to play it before in real life.

-fix the KickBack plunger device to make it reliable - turns out, PacDude's method makes for a reliable kickback!
-re-jig the VUKs so they look better - major ramp relocating for those 4x3 die-hards wink.gif

-tweak the flipper physics - still discussing this with the beta testers - I may release it "as-is" and if it doesn't work out, re-jig them in an update
-add a backglass with segmented player displays, credits display, and match display for the 4x3 version

I'm still having a problem with the balls getting stuck on the top ramp between the two wire ramp drop offs, it just hits the first bump on that ramp and wants to stop... Of course I can nudge it still to get it going but...yeah

Change the plunger release speed to 150. A lot of things have changed with the flipper physics and the KickBack has been replaced with the method PacDude used in the VP8 version to make it fire more reliably.
