Looks great! Just tired the new V2 table and it plays great! My guess is by having the room rendered that also reduces the god rays on the headset.

Definately. I built a simple gameroom by myself, godrays are gone. Will use the one 3rdaxis and Slydog made though. I just guess the additional objects (cabs) suck a bit performance. Not sure if my rig can handle that. The TAF table seems to be the max. it can handle (just here and there a little stuttering).

Nicely done guys!

Obviously the new TAF ist just great. It is also obvious that we need dynamic lighting for the best experience. I wonder if there are plans to implement it in the near future. Hopefully I am able to meet Toxie soon (maybe on a tournament next weekend). If it happens, I give my best to convince him that VPVR is stunning but still needs some love. Have to put my Rift on his head and let him see what we see.

Ok.. I have an noob question.  When I first launched the table i was presented with a menu of options as to what after market toys etc. I wanted on the table as well as some mods.  Now when i launch the table I do not get that menu anymore.   How do I activate it again so I can play around with the settings?

F6 key is usually used to change dip switches and table options

It is a modified 10.6 so it only works with VPX tables.

ah ok thanks, btw does anyone know where i can find fish tales? i found a link from monster bash pin cab but the site is dead now.

Also I wonder how possible it would be to have the output screen as a fixed view of the table

Try this archive:

https://web.archive....age/tables-vpx/

Don't know if you can register there and still download, or just read the forums..

Use PBXrecorder with Pinballx you can record the static playfield or a video of it running.

After seeing how good  the FSS Banzai Run looked like, I downloaded around 20 of Arconovum's FSS tables, It seems that the Stern and Bally/Williams numeric displays and the System11 Alpha numeric displays all show up on the backglasses on his tables. Plus you get the frame of the Head around the backglass. Unfortunately none of his DMD tables show the DMD displays in VR, and his scripts are to complex for just adding the textbox and the VPMDMD = true statement to get them to work.

DE Batman, CV and BBB really show off the depth factor of the VR rendering.

While that link to the monsterbash archive lets you browse the site, it looks like there isn't any way to download any of the tables. All of the DL links just come up and say you must log in first.    :(

Jeremy drew my attention to something I recognized somehow but I wasnt really aware of. Some objects on the playfield have weird reflections that are a bit uncomfortable for the eye. The plastics on F14 are a good example for that. They have a bright reflection, but something isnt just right. As Jeremy told me, the left eye gets another image from the left display than the right side does from the right display. It depends on your position. Sometimes the plastics are mat on one display while they are shiney on the other side.

I guess it has something to do with environment lights. Not sure if there is a simple solution. The environment lights image seems to be responsible. If yuo set it to "none" VP uses an internal image. I am going to try to build a custom one colored environment image. This should fix it. Maybe there are also material settings that could fix it. Maybe there is just another solution. If you know anything about it, please share your knowledge with us.

I found out how we can reduce the annyoing white flicker on metal ramps and maybe other metal objects: material manager->metal->check option "amount" as active and set value to 0,05.

You can always run something like bigscreen or virtual desktop and see a fixed view.  This is how I started with this stuff.  I played on a big screen, then tried stereo3D with VPX and rotated the display (which never worked perfectly).  I'm sure there are other ways as well

Is this the issue with the bloom that someone posted earlier?  I have been making that change to all of the tables that have the boxy looking lighting and it seems to fix it every time.    In the VP table editor, OPTIONS, then BLOOM STRENGTH, then set it to 0

The someone was me. ;)

No, this is another issue.

The bloom also doesnt effect the flicker on the metal ramps.

Different stuff. Both effects arent as bad as the lights artifects. But when you know it, those are annoying.

The issue I asked blindpeser about looks like good, old fashioned environment mapping to me. You see it on the side rails and plastics mostly. It's an effect that looks good on 2D monitors, but in 3D the reflections just look wrong. It's a low priority thing... I just wondered if there was a way to disable them until they look better.

Hi guys,

Thanks calig for this! Been playing and testing for wayyy to many hours at this point. I love it so far except for the DMD issues. Once that's solved it will be basically the best thing around. :)

Huge VR head hear and always dreamed of playing so many tables and in VR its really come true. I started with Future Pinball and BAM. Its pretty good but for me the downside is the sound and the physics are often not the best. Dont get me wrong Ive played a good few hundred hours of FP in VR and its great but after trying VP tables.. I gotta say even in the early state ( both are early but yeah..) the VP tables are usually more complete and funner to play. Plus there are alot of VP only tables that I love.

I went looking for Freddy and found it only for VP not FP so I found out how to install and get VP tables all running and found the VPX Freddy file and it works really good! SO much fun and the DMD works! Only issue is some strange glare and tint of the glass but other then that it works great.

I run Steam VR at about 250%, Element detail usually maxed, EVERYTHING unchecked except I force bloom off and force texture filtering. Also leave ball stretching on because ball stretching is good.. and i use quality FXAA That takes care of most oddities visually except for the odd glare you get on the top glass sometimes.

I've done some digging and messing around and have had some success in Placing my own DMD but it always renders in the same plane as the glass it seems as it has that flicker like its clipping?.. not sure.. just cant wait till Calig can get the DMDs working a little better. Then its going to be so perfect.

If your a pin head, flight simmer, sim racer, or Skyrim/Fallout person, go out right now and buy a VR head set. Just Plan on it. ;)

Its worth every penny.

If you have a VR headset and you have not tried it yet, download PokerStars VR. It is on steam and the oculus store. Great game and best of all it is FREE!
