I tried Gorgar on Farsights Pinball Arcade. Talk about wild physics where the ball travels at a million miles a minute, sensitive to every thing, hitting every single switch in less then a second on the playfield... Extremely unrealistic especially when I checked a video of the actual table. The only thing Farsight got down is the magnetic pull of the snake. Unfortunately that's what lacks in the VPX table. Do not count my score for the Farsight version. I just wanted to show that I did beat my score from playing Pinball Arcade better then VPX. I still suck.

Took me some games to get a decent score using Noah's vp9. It plays slightly harder than real table and the slings are strong so have to watch for draining from them.

Beat my personal highest on this table version

Hopefully you can do some testing to make the vpx better. Wish I could run it as I played so many real tables for many years and could help.
Hopefully I can finish my EK rebuild and then start updating my non working cab to vpx.

It's not really fun to play, when 95% of the balls get lost on the right side.

When the ball comes straight to the left or right slingshot, it's over. Sometimes you can save him with nudging.

So that's my last and highest score with the untweaked table for this week.

Maybe someone has a solution for the slingshots, so that the ball stays a little bit longer in play.

Absolute agree!

Is not fun to play... is too much  difficult and the left and right drain get all my balls!

Yeah, I'm done playing Gorgar. I'm sure the table is fun to play for real. But just as Joey had said, its not fun when 95% of my balls get lost to the right out lane.

This score I made is untweaked. I look forward to next weeks pick!

Have you tried gtxjoe's modded version? A lot less right side drains and at least gives you a chance. Give it a try. http://www.vpforums....e=9#entry366991

I went and did this untweaked. Yeah I may get a higher score, but I'd rather the author of the table tweak it himself. :)

Yes, and it has a dropbox link to a tweaked slower version of Gorgar.  I can tweak it further based on feedback and then we can officially release it as a Mod version of Fuzzel's after this weeks challenge is over.

Here is the dropbox link

BTW, The real Gorgar pinball is a drain monster

Mine used to be bad like that. Plenty of times it went down "c" out of the bumpers and straight down the right drain.

In the end I used to just shoot the hole for 10k over and over. Had a nice return to the left flipper and bounce to the right.

I did watch a video of the real Gorgar table thanks to PAPA's youtube channel. He was only able to top 430,000 I believe. I like the way Gorgar looks, but I wouldn't classify it as a table I'd play for a long period of time. I'd more then likely levitate to the nearest Attack on Mars table.

What??? Just move over to the nearest AFM table? That's cheatin buddy, I had to wait 16 years for that luxury. Back in 1979 Gorgar was a state-of-the-art revolutionary design that drew crowds. I parked my quarters on the glass and waited couple hours for my turn, pumped like million dollars into the damn thing. Respect!

Unfortunately I was not alive by this time. However, would I still be cheating if I said I would also levitate towards Bally's Mr. Mrs Pac Man (1982)? Because I love that table and would actually drive across the states to find one.

So anyway, I decided to make a video. I may make this a weekly thing. Here is the youtube video right here. https://youtu.be/4KcWzMlQwlI

My commentary sucks as I didn't get enough sleep.

268,220 Using gtxjoe's fine mod,

I am also old enough to remember Gorgar in the arcades in England and what an innovation it was with it's vast vocabulary....

Once again thank you for this thread and making me play tables which I would not normally play.

Gorgar is a very memorable pin for me. I remember first seeing it in Gatlinburg TN the year it came out. I walked from one hotel to another repeatedly to play this thing. I also remember being totally freaked out over the speech and the heart beat. Truly a classic and one of my favorites.

I suspect in the near future, with the permission of Fuzzel. I would really like to take his already very good table and mod it to my liking. I'm talking visuals, physics, lighting ...the works. It is certainly on my radar and worthy of being in the cream of the crop of VP10 tables.
