Sorry for breaking into this rather geeky discussion.
I don't understand why you are so pushy about the highscore???
I, and I think many others, cant remember my score on a any of table I play. It's simply not important. Enjoying the game is what matters.

If some1 has small hiscore means he hasnt play the game a lot. If he hasnt play the game a lot then its more possible not to know the rules. That happens in this case too:)

PS. The score is as much important as it is... Suppose we play for a score, thats the purpose of the game. Would u like to play without the screen score? With no purpose, just to keep the ball in?

Actually, the only reason I keep track of any score is just on a board next to my cabinet, where the high score for each table is in marker with whoever set it. Unless I set it, I dont actually have much sense of my score. I keep track generally of how far ive gotten in a table -- like, have I gotten through the stiffometer on this game or note, for instance.

like jimmy said, there is a ball saver called "the spell" - if its active, you get simply another ball (ball saver). on the prototype scared stiff machines, there was a real kick back solenoid... check out http://home.scarlet....k/ekickback.htm

this feature is even still in the ROM, so we could recreate it in the table.

Hello Chriz, this prototype actually features in JP's latest build of the table. I pestered him to add this support and like the gentleman he is he kindly did so Worship.gif

You simply need to enable the rom 'SS_01' in the script. The prototype ROM has ome other interesting DMD features that were cut. This would be good for you as I think I remember from your first build thread you own (owned) the real machine?

Cheers! drinks.gif

Thanks JP for setting it up for the prototype rom and thanks thewool for asking him to to it! Just tried it and you are right, there is A LOT different. Game is more challenging overall despite "the spell" kickout. Score values appear to be lower in a lot of cases, it gives you less time to get to the top of the stiff-o-meter, and the tilt is more sensitive. Different sounds as well as DMD features smile.gif

It's in the downloads section, just search for "stiff" in downloads, and look for the rom ss_01

If anyone "disabled" the spider in the past to make the UVP backglass work you might have to re-enable it to make the spider itself spin in sync with VPM. The adjustment is in the "Feature Adjustment" menu, and it is option "A.2 30 - DISABLE SPIDER" and it should be set to "NO".

AND!!!! if you have a Nanotech plunger or Pinball Wizard, you can make it work by following Noah's guide here:
Updating Fullscreen tables to use the Nanotech plunger
This table uses "lights" to animate the plunger graphic so you can follow that part of the guide and then start practicing hitting the skillshot!

Best Regards,
Todd.

p.s. Thank you very much again Rosve!!! dblthumb.gif

Followed the nanotech plunger guide and amazenly, I actually got the virtual plunger to work well. But now I have a problem where the auto kick can't reach the ball for multiballs. I have to manually launch the balls. Is it possible to have the auto kick and plunger on the same level, so they can be used interchanably? I tried moving the manual plunger down, but after a certain point, it just doesn't reach the ball anymore.

If my memory serves, there is a Plunger object named "AutoPlunger" - don't modify that one as it seems to break the existing AutoPlunger functionality when you modded it for some reason. (or move the plunger you did modify down a bit so that the AutoPlunger has more contact with the ball.)

Instead, either modify the Plunger object named "Plunger" or add a new one if it doesn't exist.

I didn't modify the existing one, and when I move down the one I made, eventually it doesn't connect with the ball anymore and still doesn't work. I clicked around the plunger area, and couldn't find an auto plunger. Is there one there or did I screw it up and somehow missed it, buried it, or changed it.

ok, I figured out what's going on with the auto plunger. The auto plunger is still there, but when I have the new plunger on top of the autoplunger, neither one hits the ball, because the other stops the ball from dropping enough to hit it. if I raise up the manual one, the auto kicker can't hit it, when I lower the manual one, the manual plunger can't hit it. How can I get it, so both plungers are able to hit the ball?

EDIT: Finally got it to work. I had to zoom in a lot and get the two exactly on top of each other. I don't know if there is an easier way to do this like have a setting where the one overshoots setting or something, but got both to work with each other.

I just download it and no problem with the file.
Your download is broken but not the rar.

Locate a Pinball machine in France:

You are right, the rar file is corrupted. I don't know what has happened, it was working a couple of weeks ago ?????

I'll re-upload it tonight.

very nice - I appreciate these B2S mods.

Is there a reason that the b2S.vbs file included with scared stiff is different to the one included with the other B2S tables?

Scared stiff: B2S.vbs file date: 14/5/2011
Funhouse: B2S.vbs file date: 3/10/2011

I had a look at the scripts and the later dated script is different.

thanks
