Blackout VP9 1.0

Version: 1.0.0
Category: VPinMAME 9.x Recreations

Author(s): jpsalas

Description:
Based on Blackout from 1980 by Williams.
I guess this table don't need any long description, since I guess you all know the table, even better than me smile.gif

I would like to thank Kristian, Boris, Guittar, Pacdude for their older tables which I used as a reference since I have never seen this table in real life.

I also would like to thank StrangeLeo for suggesting the table and for sending me many pictures of the table. Also thanks Leo for the nice backdrop!

Also thanks to highrise for the picture of the playfield which I'm sure I should have used, but I already was nearly finished with my playfield. But thanks anyway, it was nice of you to send it to me smile.gif

About the table: It is like racer car, no delays, no decorations, just 100% speed and using less video memory than my normal tables. So there are no GI lights in this table (they are always on) since they didn't turned on and off very much during game play.

The plunger is made using 3 kickers which saves a lot of video memory (before I used 13 full screen pictures) . It isn't 100% angle free, but I have included in the table a few pictures of the plunger in different angles. So if you want to change the angle you may need to change the pictures too (PM me if you need more info).

If you think the table is too fast then just change a little the slope and the ball will move slower. I like fast tables smile.gif

Just a little note: StrangLeo is making the FS version, so when he is finished testing it in his cabinet he will upload it. I guess he has a backglass for it too.

I just want to add, while this may not be 100% angle independent, it still only took me less than 10 minutes to convert to FS mode. Fantastic work on this plunger system! biggrin.gif it is fluid, and works beautifully! Thanks to all who worked out this plunger system.

Todd.

Nice Iceman! I'm sure the table was easy to rotate, the only problem was the plunger.

If someone want to use the plunger on their tables then please do so. I think it was rascal and faralos who made the plunger with kickers in a little demo table. I took that idea and I made a script for it. I think I saw that a long time ago too, it may have been rascal version too, I'm not sure.

Only 2 images are used to make the plunger, one which is the rubber and the other which is the iron. On a 4:3 table you may need to use 3 kickers, bun in a FS version maybe 2 is enough.

In this table there are 5 different images, for the plunger, each one is rotated 5 degrees. But I guess the p3 and p4 images are good for most of 4:3 versions and the p0 for the FS versions (which is not rotated). In the FS versions you'll need to put the 2 or 3 kickers in line so the plunger looks strait, but in a 4:3 table you may need to move the kickers left or right so it looks ok. Any questions? Then just send me a PM or email (my email is in the table info of all my tables).

I'm making a FS version of Funhouse version 2.0 and I'll add this plunger but with white rubber, I'll add all the plunger images in it, even if only the p0 is needed for the FS, so you know where to get the white plungers biggrin.gif
