Hello, I downloaded the addams family pinball with all the tables from VP 8 along with all the roms. When I try loading the game, the video display is very blurry with lines running across it with no audio. Although the flippers work with no sound.

P.S. How can I add an attachment? I took a screenshot of the game.

Thank you,
Chris

Click the Preferences tab at top of editor, then click Video Options and set your screen resolution to 800 x 600 or 1024 x 768 to get rid of squiggly lines on Addams Family Values VP8 table.

800 x 600 will look like this..

capture524_t.png

and what it looks like when not set at 800 x 600 or 1024 x 768..

To post image here in the forums..

Look at top of page and you will see VPF Image Host tab.

capture344_t.png

Click it and a window will pop up with a Browse button. Click the Browse button to select the picture you are uploading, then press Upload button.

capture2104_t.png

.

You will now have page with link you can copy and paste into forums.

Just highlight link and copy and paste.

Hope this helps you.

Hello xenonph, thank you for responding. Enclosed you'll find a copy of a screenshot of the game as an attachment below. I will change the screen resolution to 800 x 600 and let you know what happens. Also, I've tried to open other tables of addams family but I received all error messages from the other tables. Below, I've included the screenshots of the tables with the error messages. I've also included screenshots of my tables and roms folders.

Thank you,

Chris

That looks like The Addams Family table, not Addams Family Values table.

You should be able to set it to 1024 x 768 also and the squiggly lines will disappear.

Hello xenonph, oops you're right, it's addams family not addams family values. Also, I've tried to open other tables of addams family but I have received all error messages from the other tables as well. The ROMs must remain zipped, not extracted.

Hello kiwi, thank you for responding. I do have the 7 zip platform that I’ve already downloaded. How do I use the 7 zip in order to get the roms from extracted to zipped?

Thank you,
Chris

Try redownloading the rom, and don't extract the zipped rom. Leave it zipped up, as it is a zipped file already.

Place the zipped rom in the roms folder.

Hello, I redownloaded the roms, left them zipped. The pinballs games load nicely, with their video displays showing. The problem is, is that there are no sounds. When the ball hits anything such as bumpers, displays, dropping into any of the holes, travelling along the ramps there are no sounds to be heard. I'll attach some screenshots.

Thank you,

Chris

I am guessing you are talking about the rom sounds?

Try hitting F1 while table is running and rom options window will appear.

capture346_t.png

Do you have Use Sound checkmarked?

Do you have Use Samples checkmarked?

Also alot of tables will have a very low rom sound.

You can usually hit the END key to open coin door and adjust rom volume with the 7 and 8 key, (Sometimes it is 8 and 9 key)

Here are some rom volume adjustment tutorials...

Try clicking Preferences, Audio Options, and make sure both are checkmarked and the sliders are all the way to the right.

capture348_t.png

If that does not help, try pressing the + key on your keyboard.

Thank you for responding back. I tried it and no luck. You know, I tried playing a different pinball game such as getaway 2 and even this one also has no sounds. It's weird though..

very weird!!

I have ran out of advice.

Maybe try fresh install?

Maybe try deleting everything. (Except your roms and music.)

Then try using the All-In-One Installer. This will install everything you need.

Choose the VPX7setup.zip version. (It installs VPX7, VPX6.2, VP9, VP8)

https://www.vpforums...&showfile=11573

Then put your roms back, and try the table.

Hi, yes it does have flipper noise, ball rolling, the noise from the ball launcher etc.. If you want, let me know as to I can take screenshots to make it easier to troubleshoot.

Have you downloaded the rom from VPU? There are always the newest roms, and sometimes the roms get updated and they are needed for newer vpinmame versions.

Ok then you have a VpinMAME audio issue

Keep in mind, VpinMAME will only play out to windows primary audio device, where VPX will let you specify and pick anything.

I've downloaded the roms from here, vpforums and from the internet pinball machine database.
