sounds like a great project...would love to try your updated table
It's surprising me. I don't know much about coding but learning it as I go and using trial and error really has worked.
It's just coding all the modes that I'm afraid of.
It's a long way off from being finished.
If I put it up for download now, you'd have a working table with rudimentary, basic scoring with no modes, very little audio with a repeating attract loop during gameplay.
I DO have a few things programmed through PUP including:
- The aforementioned Attract Loop
- Ed Sullivan's Ball Start ("Ladies and Gentlemen...THE BEATLES!") with video AND audio which is an upgrade from the old table
- The ballsave splash screen is now up and running
- Game Over splash screen is now working
I also modified the flippers so the top inner plastic isn't so tall above the red portion, just like the real machine.
Physics have been improved with the upper loop now far more accessible. The ball no longer floats and doesn't require Jedi speed to repeat that loop.
Bumpers need improvement. Magnet lock needs improvement. And, of course, I need to add the A/V to the table.
Also, it needs new light sequencing. I want it to match the real thing as much as possible. It looks like the original table artist did a decent job doing a knock off but two of the three bumpers aren't lit up and only finally do so when they're hit.
