Great table from JP and Team PP - bringing us another sound and light show from Data East.
I've given it a makeover and a few additions.
4.0 has new lights, sound, glassier ramps and much better physics.
Enjoy :)

WOW thank you very very much bigus1!  Impressive!  Really appreciate your time and efforts!

I also like how you re did the side rails and improved the backwall flashers.  Nice!

The main thing is you managed to move the lower playfield down!  I tried multiple times but failed miserably.  I was told it was very difficult to do and major work.  Being able to see Axl's neck banner makes me almost want to cry happy tears!  That's one important task now crossed off the to-do list.  This is a HUGE push in the right direction towards one day the perfect GnR digital recreation!

All that's remaining now and hopefully some VP GnR fan can...

 - 3d scan the G ramp, R ramp, 2x missing spotlights for the upper playfield and 2x missing small railings near the top flipper from a real table

 - Add mIrror blades G5k style

 - include playfield object reflections G5k style

 - Overall fine tweaking such as the wire ramp near the back wall being angled down slightly more and the backwall flashers moved precisely into position

 - Someone who has played the real table matching the VP physics as closely as possible.  I played a real GnR in 2004 but I was about 5 at the time so cannot remember much apart from the gun trigger, flashing lights and sounds lol

Is it just me or is anyone else not getting flipper sounds from this table?

Yeah, they're working but low vol. Maybe one of the sound guys can help. Haven't explored that yet :)

It's one of favorite tables and I like what you've done with it but not being able to hear the flippers bugs the hell out of me. If no one knows how I'll try to figure it out myself and post back.

Many ways to fix it. One is to export the sounds, run them through audacity, amplify the sound and import. Or, just re-import the flipper sounds from a table where the sound fits the volume and or sound you're after.

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

The problem is that the sounds that are in the script does not exist in the table.

Find "fx_FlipperUp1" in the script and change it to "fx_FlipperUp"

Do the same with "fx_FlipperUp2"

Yeah, I saw that ??  Made me wonder how there's sounds at all.

Sweet, cured !!  Thanks JP :)

I've added the info to the table page.

Check-out the POTO update with my new light method. Maybe you can help with the screwy sound?

Thanks for the update! Looks and plays great!

But...anybody else also not having ball_rolling sounds?

When ball enters ramps or wires there is sound but not when ball is on PF.

I changed the devide factor in line 1668 (from 2000 to 2 as a test) but that didn't help.

Also checked if the sounds itself is available in the soundmanager but it is.

And then my knowledge stops....

Thanks!

PS: I like to have 2 different flipper_up sounds as in the script so you can pan them easy in the sound_mgr left/right.   I just rename the up/down and reimport them for the other position...works also great....

I play by the squeak from the headphones on the desk nearby.  I'm going to have to get into the habit of putting them on my head and listening for sound probs.....

Hey - I got this roll-up silicone keyboard for like 10 bux from a dollar shop a decade or more ago, and I totally tossed the GameBlaster 9000 keyboard for pinball. The cheap one is far superior and improves playability heaps. And it's silent. Doesn't wake the family. And you can chuck it in with the dishes when you dump your cuppa on it :)

It's rubbish for typing, according to the 140wpm missus.

Thanks again bigus1.

Btw.  Do you know how to move the apron screws down to match the new placement of the apron, plunger cover and snake pit launcher cover?

The screws are labelled as Primitive 25.  When I tried all the screws are connected as one so moving one moves them all.  Way beyond what I can do.

Hold the shift key when selecting the screw to select just one

Thanks gtxjoe.  I must be doing something wrong because I tried that too with the Shift key/s and no luck.  I also checked and the primitive is not locked.

Try clicking on one screw, and when it shows them all grouped, click on a different one.

The second one clicked will not show in group.

Open only layer 2 and make a rectangle around the screw, with mouse, to select .

Make sure nothing is selected before starting

Thanks xenonph and bigus1.  I tried both those approaches and still no luck.  Not sure what else I am doing wrong.

Just checked table, and it looks like the screws are all part of one primitive.

So I am guessing you will not be able to select just one screw.

They are all part primitive 25.
