File Name: Pool Sharks (Midway 1990)

File Submitter: jpsalas

File Submitted: 06 Oct 2018

File Category: VPX/VPinMAME Recreations

Author(s): jpsalas
Manufacturer: Bally
Year: 1990
ROM: Link to ROM
Permission to MOD?: Yes, without approval

Based on the Bally/Midway table from 1990.

I have redrawn all the graphics, so any similarity with the original ones must be a coincidence ;) Well, I haven't redrawn the girls :)

I have not used any primitives (apart from pegs and screws), so if you are just as talented as me making or modeling 3D objects then you still have a chance to make good looking tables using walls and ramps ;)

And the playfield and plastics are 4k :) and they are PNG, and the size of the table is still quite low :)

Thank you JP, you did a Long break ;)

I only changed FS Layback to 58 - and as dazzadasha mentoined, About the Ball Stuck, i haven't this Issue, Looks like all is ok,
but for sure Maybe you can take a Closer look at this.

Maybe i Change the BG like the real one: Grill and extra Lights should be on the Top ( 2 Screen Cab ).

Exceptional table, I also have my WIP.

How the ramp diverter should work:

when the solenoid is enabled the diverter is lowered and a mechanical block holds it down, then, the solenoid is deactivated and the diverter stays down.
When the solenoid is reactivated and deactivated again, the diverter goes up.
The switch 33 is closed when the diverter is up.

Thanks! I didn't have a clue how the diverter should work. I'll fix it later today or tomorrow. Let's see if someone finds other things to fix :)

It seems that today I have nothing to do :D .

This is the mechanism of the diverter to which I attached the cam in reverse, to understand how it works.
The pin that runs inside the cam can not be seen because it is on the other side,

the arrows indicate the path that makes the pin, red dot the position of the diverter up, and the green down.

Thanks Kiwi! :) It is nice to see how the mechanism works :) People think I'm an expert in pinballs, but actually I have seen very few in real life, and I have never seen the insides of one :) Well, apart of the videos on youtube :)

UPDATE:

1.0.1 Updated 08.10.2018
- Increased slope from 5 to 6 for a speeder table, as suggested by Akiles50000.
- Fixed the diverter to the proper working. Thanks Kiwi for the info.
- Fixed the ramps to prevent missing balls.
- Changed the layback to 58 as suggested by STAT.

Enjoy! :)

I remember this table from my youth. Actually I remember playing it teared up and hearth-broken after my gf left me.
Happy to see both the table and a db2s being improved, so thank you JP and Wildman.

EDIT : Oh - damn. I definitely should thank Kiwi for the info. Now this table plays totally differently and is more fun ! Thank you !

JP, please can i have your redrawn BG ?

I have not redrawn the BG I just took one image from the web and adjusted it to make the desktop background. But I can send you the image I used as a source. I'll do that this evening when I come back home.
