File Name: Vector (Bally 1982)

File Submitter: Schreibi34

File Submitted: 17 Mar 2018

File Category: VPX/VPinMAME Recreations

Author(s): Sindbad
Schreibi34
Manufacturer: Bally
Year: 1982
Permission to MOD?: Yes, without approval

When i asked Sindbad for permission to use his Vector resources he told me that he was already working on a version of this table. Both versions were in their final stage so i thought that this was it and this baby will stay on my cab. But he didn't hesitate and almost completely gave up his own table to team up with me. Thanks man! You don't find guys like him very often! He was also a motivation at the end when i lost my patience. I was ready to release the table as is but he had a couple of good ideas and he made them possible with his Photoshop and scripting knowledge! So this also Sindbad's table.
OK,turn down the lights in your mancave and we hope you enjoy this one!

Played it some more this morning, it's really well balanced. The key feature to this game is getting past the guardian drops to hit the loop shot to load the balls. On the real table, this is a very satisfying shot and this recreation succeeds because it's not too easy to do so. I guess the best compliment I can provide right now is that my scoring on an average game seems to reflect the scores I was getting on my own pin (approx 1m). Will try it some more later today

Back once again to say that I really enjoy this release. I'm not very happy when a pin plays too easily - this one doesn't. I have one thing I'm going to look at an that is that the metal on each side of the flippers seems to bounce a lot, maybe a bit too much ? Guess I should search this table on youtube and see how it plays there.

Big thumbs up from me guys.

Here is a video that i used to get the gameplay right. Please look at the 6:35; 8:52; 9:02 and the 20:45 min mark and tell me what you think about the bounces of the metal. It looks OK to me. If you guys think it's too bouncy i will reduce that in the next update.

At the 19:57 min mark they have a glas hit and they say that this happens quite frequently. You hear that sound on every hard shot up the ramp. It would be nice if you guys could also check the glashit frequency.

Especially the lighting is done in an amazing way (one of the best VPX lighting that I've ever seen)!

Amazing work regarding this part Schreibi34 (also on Blackout; great lighting).

The textures are also perfect and the gameplay is great; thanks for this great release !

Great job on this table Schreibi and Sindbad! This is one of the more challenging and fun tables from this era.

Also, did I hear correctly? I believe I heard the ball "hit" the glass when shot up the left/center short ramp, near the middle flipper. I have not been able to recreate it, but if that is in there, wow. What a great feature and would be fun to hear this on other tables.

Thanks again guys!

well, I can tell you the glass hit is real LOL used to scare the crap out of me, thought it would break the glass since it occurred so often.  It should not be ALL the time but a strong flip should hit it

One problem is, that VP or my Flippersettings seem to produce more hard clean shots then the real table, or real tables in general. This goes for voley shots and button mashing situations! I'm not sure why, maybe the coilrampup, EOS torque? I think there is too much power at the end of the flip.

And this tables just got better. Thank you guys for what I expect to be a surround mod. It adds so much to the realism.

Fun table and cool sound effects.

Does this table utilize the PinDMD?

When I launch the table, the dmd flashes but there is no display.

Thank you,

Mark
