Well I have finally started on the VPX NFL MODs.

I want to thank Sliderpoint for making his mod, and allowing me to use it to make all the other teams.

The first table up on the block is Miami Dolphins.

I made this Mod first because it is the team of a special community member here, that helped me get VPX running on my computer.

(He sent me a GTX 660 graphics card along with a new PSU unit powerful enough to run 2 monitors.)

I cannot thank Slydog43 enough!!

 

So I finally figured out how to make my own material textures in the VPX editor. I thought I was going to have to learn how to use blender and export the .MAT files from VPX and try to change color in blender. Thank goodness it turned out not to be that complicated.

 

So here is the first pic...

 

 

I will be making all the teams in this format.

 

I will not change the 3 big flashers on any of the Mods. But the rest of the lights will be team colors.

I also will leave the wire ramps alone. They will be same color on all mods.

This table is far from done, but i just wanted to show you how it looks so far.

 

Sliderpoint made it to where the Mod sounds are turned off by default, and you have to go into script to turn them on. I want to ask him if he can help me to make a key press turn them on and off.

I have messed around trying to get it to work, but never could get it to function.

I wanted to assign it to the letter M, which is KeyCode 50, but I think i need help on that part of it.

As a Dutch guy I'm not familiar with American Football but I think you're doing a great job Xenonph.

Hoping to see some other VPX later.

VPX Mod would be great.

VPX just seemed overwhelming at first, but you don't learn unless you try.

I couldn't figure out how to change colors of flippers, So I went into Material Manager in the VPX Editor and tried exporting a texture out, so I could see if I could change the color to team colors and import it back in. Well this gave me a .MAT file which I had no idea how to open. So I Googled and I thought I would have to learn how to use blender before I could change any colors. Then I decided to hit the create tab in the Material Manager. I was then able to create team colors.

 

Sliderpoint made this table to where I will have no problem doing each team. (BIG THANKS SIR!!)

And Carny_Priest was kind enough to make new scorecards and instruction cards in swf format. So I used them and will be using them on every NFL MOD.

By the way..

My family is from Denmark laylow. My Grandma and Grandpa were born there.

I think I am close to done with this, just need to do a few more things.

Here is FS and DT view pics...(Nice I don't have to make Day and Night Mods, and the FS and DT are in same table. I love VPX!!!)

 

 

Does the BackDrop for DT view look to plain? I didn't want to add player decals and helmets and have it look cluttered, so its just a football field with lights.

I will probably add more BackDrop pics to choose from in the editor, but this will be the default pic for all teams.

 

I also moved the football grunt sound effects from bumpers to the slings on the Sound Mod and took Defense Chant off Vendor Kicker.

 

Also Sliderpoint sent me script to add a keypress of letter M to start Sound Mod Sounds. Big Thanks Sir!! (Sound Mod is Off by Default.) You can also turn them back off by hitting M.

 

I need some sleep, but will be back to work on this first thing when I wake up.

Sliderpoint is working on some things on table so the Dolphins table is temporarily on hold, so I decided to start on his 49ers graphics.

OK Seahawks is close to finished.

I can't decide whether to have the Action Green for plastic trim and Wolf Grey for rubbers. Or Wolf Grey for plastic trim and Action Green for rubber color?

The green kind of blends in with color of playfield so I am thinking green rubbers.

What do you think?

I am going to start on Bears mod next.

I have asked coyo5050 if he could make backglasses for each team. In turn, I will make his Bears Team next. He said he has time to do one per week and is working on Dolphins and Seahawks Backglasses per my request. I can't thank him enough!! We are going to try and coordinate to release backglass and tables at same time, or close to it.

Sliderpoint is still doing some finishing touches on the original VPX table, but should be done soon.

Sliderpoint has made some upgrades to his original table...

He has upgraded the Goal Keeper and it really looks amazing!!

But wait , theres more!!

He added back lights and much more!!

Here is a pic of the Dolphins table with new changes..

 

 

I am thinking of changing the number on jersey,(We don't want Dan Marino guarding the Goal Line!)  but this table is ready for upload I think. I am waiting to see if Sliderpoint wants to add any info to the txt file I will be including with each table. Other than that..it's ready!!

 

He did a damn fine job I might add.

Glad to see you working in VPX and on your NFL Mods once again.

 

I'm a fan of the green for the Seahawks.  It get a little hidden put is brighter and nicer than the white IMO

 

Any chance the Patriots can make it higher on your priority list?  My wife is a big fan of the pats and she will be sad once you release the Seahawks table (My favorite team)

Thanks for the input on the Seahawks plastics.

I will make them green but maybe add extra plastics for those who like white border.

 

Seeing my old spanned version NFL mods makes me want to puke. I did give it a good try though on those spanned mods. Bad table to start your modding experience on. But I always wanted to make a Seahawks table, so i learned what I could to make it happen.

What got me to first think that I could ever even try a mod, was a post for JPSalas' Mod of White Water with smurf pic. I downloaded the mod only to find it wasn't a table, but only the pic of playfield. So that got me to learn how to import pics into image manager, and that got me interested in how I could change things on playfield pic and possibly make a Seahawks mod for NFL table. I have been learning as I go, and I learn something new everyday with this pinball stuff. I love working on these tables!!

Finished the Seahawks 3 colors version.

I will upload it here when the server change is completed. It is available right now at Itchigo's Site. (Rogue-Pinball)

 

I will be making these 3 color versions (Home,Away and Classic Colors) until all teams are completed, and then with STAT's help,  we are going to make an ALL-In-One Table with all 32 teams in one table.

 

You change team colors by pressing R-CTRL (Right Magna-Save), and can toggle between Home,Away and Classic team colors at anytime.

 

Here are the 3 versions you will see in each table. (The AWAY colors will almost always be white, and I may just leave them out in other mods, and just do classic colors and present colors.

xenonph, I've been wondering when you would move on to VPX mods. Nice!

 

From the VP9 tables, something always seemed off with the "goal keeper" being from the same team. Like Urlacher was the "goal keeper" for the Bears table. But, if I'm playing as the Bears, shouldn't the goal keeper be from an opposing team? I want the satisfaction -at least in pinball- of scoring against the Pack.

I also thought of this very thing.

I could add version where you could have goalkeeper as hated rival. But don't know how Bears fans will like a Packers uniform on there Bears table!!

and vice versa. How would Packers fans like to have Bears Goalkeeper?

Seems like a good idea, but maybe not to all.

 

What would be great is if the goalkeepers uniform changed with what team you are playing against. It could change when a playfield light showing what team you are playing lights up, but I would have to ask STAT for help on script that would accomplish this!!

Chicago Bears VPX2.1 Mod is completed and is available for download at Itchigo's Site Rogue-Pinball.

I will upload them here after server switch has taken place.(Or if I see anybody here have a new table approved. Not sure how many other Table Authors are also waiting on server switch to upload new tables, but there have been no new table approvals in couple of weeks, so I figure it is probably because they are waiting on Server Switch.)

 

 

Sliderpoint upgraded many things for this new 3.0 version including Plunger Lane Guard, Plunger Sounds, New Goal Post, changed behaviour of VUK, and much more!!

(Can't thank Sliderpoint enough!!)

These new mods will have ability to change from Home,Away, and Classic team colors with press of R-Magna-Save.(R-CTRL)

I am going to go back and redo Dolphins and update it to version 3.0.

I am then starting on Vikings table, as I have found out that 49ers arent Sliderpoints team, so I am putting them off to side!!
