Is anybody interested in creating a Bride of Pinbot 2.0 table?

https://www.youtube....h?v=W4EzjW03L1o

I just discovered this.

http://www.dutchpinb...m/project-bride

I don't know if the guys at Dutch Pinball would provide access to source code or DMD assets, but if they do, this turns into a port to VBScript and UltraDMD.  If anybody wants to do this, and determines that it is hard (or impossible) to program the DMD using UltraDMD, let me know.  I will make the necessary changes to support it.  I didn't see anything in the DMD animations in the video that couldn't be done - but I wasn't watching that closely.

If you got the code, ultradmd wouldn't even be needed since it's proc. I think it would be a lot easier to implement than you're thinking. Don't know if they'll allow it out if the code is even open. I know we could get the code no problem but beyond that idk. BOP2.0 is really cool and I'd love to play it in VP.

I think it would be really cool to see BOP 2.0 made but I doubt that Dutch Pinball would give permission for it as it's still something they are currently selling. It wouldn't hurt to ask them I guess if one of the table devs are willing to tackle the project.

Played BoP recently at Pinagogo. Surprisingly great. Usually I'm really skeptical that anything as classic as that pin can be improved. It's different, and maybe equally great -- which is high marks!

From what I understand it's supposed to bring a completely different ruleset to the table.

Based on P-ROC technology, we developed a game conversion for The Machine: Bride of Pinbot.

Some of the game’s new features:

  • Completely new rule sheet
  • 3-Ball multiballs and wizard mode
  • Wheel awards become unique wheel modes
  • 3D animations on a color display
  • Full stereo music and SFX
  • The original voice of the 'Bride'
  • Player profiles, high score tracking & trophies
  • Easy to switch to the original game

I've built two of them, it's very different from BOP. It's a mode based game, very challenging. I'd love to see it on VPX.

I have Bop 2.0 and I can confirm that it is a completely different game than BOP, in terms of rules.

The cool thing is that while bop is really a one shot game.(the left ramp) Bop 2.0 forces you to shot all over the playfield and it makes it a much deeper and more fun experience.

It also makes the machine much more difficult.

The multiball rules are fantastic in 2.0. First of all, it is story based. Not only is there jackpots. You can get 2x and 3x jackpots by shooting the heartbeat ramp first. After hitting 6 jackpots (if I remember correctly) there is a super jackpot. But that is not all.

You then move to fase two the next time you start multiball and if you complete that one also, you get to one of the game's wizard modes.... Metamorphose. You can also hit the left scoop anytime during multiball for a chance to get some extra millions by holding both flippers for 5 sec (this is really hard to do with 3 balls in play, yes bop 2.0 has 3 ball multiball)

The left scoop also starts the modes. You have the 4 small wheel modes and another 4 Big Wheel modes. Each time you complete a small wheel mode you can then start a big wheel mode next time you go into the scoop. (if you can't complete the mode before the time ends, you start another small wheel mode instead of a big wheel mode the next time)

Get all the modes and enter Wizard mode 2:  The Billionaire Club.

You also have a video mode in the game.

On top of all that, add the great speech calls from the same actor who did the original Bride, some really cool music, Color dmd, a great soundsystem, online leaderboards, achievements (think steam or game console achievements) and the ability to also play the original bop with pinmame in the options menu, along with a lot of other cool features and you've got yourself a winner in my book.

A very expensive add-on to a bop machine, but I think it was worth it.

The video mode didn't come up in the youtube video.  I wanted to see that.

Didn't realize the voice acting on 2.0 is from the same actress. Cool!

I also played at PAGG. There were two there with the DP logo. I thought it was odd only one was on 2.0, I didn't know you could run both. That's cool.

I just play BOP2.0 at Olaf's in Seattle. I liked it, even though I did very poorly. I wish I could have enabled more modes. I didn't even get multiball.

Those top scores are daunting. Maybe it is just my setup, but I have been nowhere near those scores on my machine.

Haven't gotten round to connecting a mouse and keyboard and set it up for live scoring yet.

With a brand new playfield, this is a brutal machine (but that is part of the fun)

This one I play on has also undertaken a complete overhaul. New playfeild, cabinet etc. The best I can muster is 11,554,880 but then it is set to the hardest settings. :-)
