My Vp stops working with directb2s no problems with regular b2s. I have tried all compatibility options, ran as admistrator reinstalled net frame work 4 reinstalled b2s server several times. It says VP stopped working. I have win 7 ultimate 64 with nvidia 9500 gt 4 gig ram, 1 gig video mem. Why does regular b2s work and not directb2s? I have tried everything i can think of? This computer is a cabinet upgrade, I had everything running fine on xp 32 before the upgrade crap!   Its a intel core duo E6550 2.33ghz

on attack from mars i am getting line 0 null and error on line 54 variable is undefined 'vpminit'

i must be missing a file in the Vp software cabinet transfer.

did you removed protection from all b2s files, you have to click on unblock button on bottom of properties

did you get message everything installed properly after registering b2s server?

in vpinmame setup program you have buttons:

install

uninstall

setup paths

setup defaults

test

and so on

you have to do install again - maybe as admin, and you have to unblock all exe's and dll's that you will use during install

test has to work or you don't have vpinmame

If the standard b2s tables are running fine, then I would assume vpinmame is installed and working (if they are rom controlled tables that is).

Are you running the d2bs backglasses on the b2s version of the tables? or the standard tables? I think I recall reading in one thread or another where that was causing issues if trying to run the d2bs server on an already b2s table... but then again I can be misremembering what I read.

Try running the d2bs backglasses on the standard versions of the tables if you haven't.

Are you running the v1 version of the server or one of the beta versions? Here is the process i've followed.

1) unzip latest b2s server version to tables directory
2) edit properties on each of the three b2s server files to unblock them (this is not required for everyone - it depends on your system)
3) register the new server version using the provided exe

Then for each backglass file:
4) copy the backglass file to the tables directory
5) Rename the backglass to the same name as the table (or you can use the hyperpin xml file to keep your table and backglass in sync). I rename mine as then I don't have to worry about keeping it in sync with hyperpin.
6) edit the script for the table to use the b2s.server controller

Run it and enjoy.

That's worked for me for all tables.

ya i did that witht he latest version of b2sserver. Pinmame should still run and open roms because you are not load any tables

ya i tried to turn b2s tables with direct b2s backglasses, but pinmame should still work right?

ya pinmame won't work anymore even with b2s tables with roms. I'll try again with compatibility modes.

i am ggonna try and load pinmame on my other cpu with win7 ultimate 32

Well pinmame works fine on win7 32, Bought this new computer to play VP on and it is a 64 proccessor, with win 7 ultimate 64, and it won't run pinmame. Should I take it back and get another or is there a fix for pinmame for 64 bit os's?

I am running windows 7 ultimate on 2 of my computers and pinmame only works on the 32 bit os and not the 64 bit os!

Vpinmame works just fine on Windows 7 x64... I know this firsthand :) Try rerunning the setup as administrator, and make sure you check the .dll properties to make sure it doesn't need to be unblocked.

yes i did that. The only thing i see that it could be is. I auto login as administrator. I am blocked from the special pemissions check box. Should i find a way to login as owner. I just tried to edit the registry didn't work. I can change every box except special permissions box

Are you just running the setup from an administrator account, or are you actually right clicking on the setup.exe and choosing 'run as administrator'?

yes i am right clicking, also have to right click to change permission for all to run the setup and dll as administrators

the properties

anyone who logs into my computer has admintrator privlidges to run vpinmame.dll and setup.exe and is allowed full control over these applications

i guess i just have to reinstall windows

i ahve the worst luck, i have been changing file atributes and stuff like this since MSDOS. I just have bad luck i guess

works fine on my other computer

I need a drink

do you have VP installed to /program files (x86)?

if you open vpinmame setup you can see in about box what you have installed, what does it show you?

And test button should run every rom you have. What errors you get on test?

Did you set paths to show to your roms in vpinmame setup?

You don't need to uninstall windows - just install/uninstall vpinmame untill test works ok.
